Garbage.
You will download Assetto Corsa and install it in a few minutes. Then, it won't work. Then, you will "protontricks 244210 dotnet472" as said here, and it will take a few HOURS, because it needs to install (basically) 472 versions of dotnet. That is, until you see "dotnet40 does not yet fully work or install on wine. Caveat emptor."
TL,DR: "protontricks 244210 dotnet472" DOES NOT WORK. Don't waste your time.
I got it to work only by using Proton 5.0-10... which had a bug causing the fps to tank every time a menu appears on screen in the game.
Maybe, if you have Proton 5.0-10 + wine-staging + winetricks + protonfixes + a really, really good graphics card, this game will be as easy on your CPU/GPU as Cyberpunk 2077.
Écran noir.
-nojoy -novid -vulkan -fullscreen
Black screen.
No sound. At all. Even when pulseaudio is installed. Native, or with proton.
By running "apulse Steam/steamapps/common/DarkestDungeon/_linux/darkest.bin.x86_64", you'll be able to hear the intro. That is all. No sound in game.
Finally got sound to work with Proton 5.0-9, launch parameter "apulse %command%".
Oddly enough, pulseaudio, or just alsa, did not work. No sound at all. But apulse (pulseaudio emulator sending everything to alsa) works perfectly.
Proton-5.9-GE-8-ST GloriousEggroll
Fun fact, the GOG version "just works" with wine. I doubt Steam has a different version. Just click and play. Just DON'T use protondb.
The only thing that doesn't work is saves, and to fix that, you just have to open regedit ("wine regedit") in the background, so Re-Volt has time to save your trophies to the regedit. Close regedit 5 seconds after closing your game and that is all. Enjoy!
Nothing.
Proton 5.13 doesn't work. 32-bit, 64-bit, 64-bit without mods, nothing. Proton 5.0-9 either. 32-bit, 64-bit, 64-bit without mods, nothing.
Somehow, this summer, it went from "not working at all on my system" to "100% working with no glitches whatsoever" (just use GE-Proton-7-19... or higher I guess). Great!
