Works well, performance improves over time
Disabled the right trackpad to avoid accidentally messing up quick time events
Some stutter and framerate drops in large, crowded scenes
Game instantly crashed upon finishing the first chapter, but never again
The game defaulted to low settings, 30 FPS cap, 70% resolution scale. You can comfortably raise the resolution scale to 100% with no problems and you might be able to take things up further, but the game runs and looks fine. It should be noted that stuttering was particularly noticable for about the first hour, but eventually goes away for good.
FMVs sometimes played incorrectly
Played the game to completion and there were pretty much no issues. If you have issues with FMVs switch to ProtonGE and that should fix it. Additionally, to 100% the game, you need to switch to desktop mode and edit a save file (this is the case on Windows too) but it's not immediately clear where you need to navigate to on Linux. So, for future reference, navigate here in the file browser: "/home/deck/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/1281270/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/LocalLow/Bryce Bucher/Fatum Betula/"
Works flawlessly
Rebound the D-pad to the arrow keys in order to get through a puzzle
Quickly played through the whole game in one sitting, everything worked perfectly straight out of the box, though I did have to bind the arrow keys to the D-pad in order to get through a puzzle in the later half of the game.
Very enjoyable experience
Capped framerate to 30, lowered visual settings from Ultra to High (though this is probably not necessary)
Very noticeable drop (well below 30 FPS) regardless of settings throughout the second level of the game, thankfully the level is fairly short. This doesn't happen anywhere else in the entire game.
Finished the game with little to no issues. Should be noted that you only use the left stick and X to navigate the main menu, I didn't know this at first and thought something was wrong.
The game crashes very frequently, seemingly at any time and for no identifiable reason, usually within 1-2 minutes of play. Switching to Proton GE delays the crash to every 5 minutes or so. If enabled, the game does generate crash logs that are located in the game's compatdata folder then "users/steamuser/AppData/Local/Lemma/analytics" but I couldn't make much sense of these.
Works fine after a quick trip to Desktop Mode
PhysX is on by default and needs to be turned off to avoid performance issues which can be very easily done from the main menu.
Upon first boot it'll get stuck at "Running install script" forever. You have to boot the game up once in Desktop Mode and go through the PhysX installer, but when this is done you can go back to Gaming Mode and stay there.
After all that the game works as expected, though it's worth noting that there is no cloud saves at all.
Works perfectly!
I wasn't able to find any issues whatsoever. Made a community layout allowing the cursor to be controlled with joysticks, trackpads or the touchscreen, while also letting you skip animations and cutscenes with the B button.
Ending cutscene did not play correctly when under Proton Experimental
The default version of Proton seemed to have issues saving the game (restarted after 30 minutes of play, nothing saved), and the opening logo video didn't play correctly. Switching to experimental fixed this, but then the ending cutscene didn't play correctly. Switching to GE seemed to fix all issues.
Works perfectly out of the box now
Since this was marked as verified, the issue with the ending cutscene not playing properly has been fixed. There are no issues now.
A great experience
Bound L3 to both L4 and L5 to increase comfort, also made holding L2 the gyro enable button
When pressing the Steam button, there appeared to be a second window open but attempting to switch to it did nothing, nor did it cause any issues at all
Didn't have a second person to thoroughly test but I connected a Switch Pro Controller and it seemed to work just fine, one player using the Steam Deck Controls and another using the Pro Controller, in both the main game and the Mercenaries mode.
It seemed to just work for me. Played through the whole game. I vaguely remember a single pre-rendered cutscene at the start of the game not playing properly, but apparently I never once switched to Proton-GE so it must have fixed itself.
Works great
No issues at all. Worth noting that there's a generic Unity launcher you need to get past with the touchscreen or mouse. I also made a community layout, though I think all functionality is accessible from the standard "Keyboard (WASD) and Mouse" template.
Doesn't boot
Simply opens to an error message stating "Unable to detect Ubisoft Connect installation. Please make sure Ubisoft Connect is installed."
