Works perfectly well out of the box
I used proton 6.3-6 but other versions would probably also work. AFAIR I did not come across any kind of issues/crashes.
Just make sure to install the committee of zero patch. It improves translation. They also have Linux installation instructions for the patch on their website.

The game crashes on start
The game starts up and crashes immediately.
The game runs really well. No crashes. There could be slight performance issues but nothing noticeable.
You might want to limit fps because the game runs slower/faster depending on your fps. I used mangohud MANGOHUD_CONFIG=fps_limit=60 %command% (When I limited fps to 30 some hacking minigames/platforming was difficult compared to 60)
Used Glorious Eggroll Proton 6.5-GE-2. (newest version did not work).
Installed vcrun2017 via winetricks: WINEPREFIX=[[SteamLibrary]]/steamapps/compatdata/1111390/pfx winetricks vcrun2017
Full screen mode was highly unstable compared to windowed one.
Even when running in windowed mode, game still crashes or the screen becomes entirely black and not responding to any inputs other than Esc. Have to reload and play if that happens. So I recommend saving constantly. Game crashes in the same places but after few retries (my maximum was 3 times) can get past those unstable parts.
When using wined3d flag, the CG movies did not play. The screen was entirely black. To view CG movies, I had to disable wined3d flag and play in full screen. But then the CG movies page was just a white screen, but can navigate using arrows and play the videos. (The videos play normally in this way)
The game sometimes hangs on exit. Have to close from steam itself.
Sometimes pokecom screen becomes black and stays on the screen even after closing it. Had to save and reload when this happened.
I installed the Committee of Zero patch as well. (So the experience of a person who does not have this patch may vary from mine) However, the game does not support mouse input by default. So to fix these issues and for improved translation, I highly recommend installing the patch.
My recommendation is to install the patch, vcrun2017 and use Glorious Eggroll Proton 6.5-GE-2 (This version worked for me) with PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command% launch command and play in windowed mode. The game may crash/hang sometimes but can reload and skip content easily so it is not a huge problem. if you want to watch CG movies, disable wined3d and launch in full screen. The CG movies menu will be a white screen, but it is possible to play the movies using arrow keys. (But I do not recommend playing the game in this mode)
Its a good game and works fine most of the time.
Crashes sometimes, but can get past them by reloading from prev saves. Save often. Always crashed for me in the movie library and CG library. Seemed like it crashes less in windowed mode tho.
After completion of some phases, when game loads main menu, the screen text and some assets are missing. Works fine after restarting the game. (At this point I had installed the zero patch so it could be the reason)
Install committee of zero patch. It improves the game significantly. Use proton 6.3-6 (that's what worked for me), install vcrun2017 (using winetricks) and the patch. (In the patch setup, I also had to manually choose the game directory.)
Highly recommend installing the Committee of Zero patch.
For that, I had to first install vcrun2017 (with winetricks) and then run the patch using proton. And for the patch to work, I had to switch to proton version 5.0.10.
Worked perfectly out of the box.
I did not see any kind of stability/performance issue whatsoever.
