Worked out of the box
Just installed and played on Steam. All default settings. No issues.
Worked fine on default settings.
A few people have said it suffers from slowdown issues during gameplay, if so try the LD_PRELOAD="" %command% launch options

Fairly slow, probably due to the game being unoptimized. Vsync disabled, medium settings.
I just switched to Proton GE 9.25 and it worked perfectly.
It worked fine without any tinkering.

Getting into an online game requires a little tinkering... I installed "Proton BattleEye Runtime" from Steam Library, then added the above launch command. Online mode works just fine now... GTAV online used to kick me everytime until recently. Glad it finally works again!
The game runs fine on my setup, but took some tinkering to get into the game. Online doesn't work at all.

There were a few issues before I could get into the game.
The launcher kept saying something like "The game is already running" so would just force me to quit. Restarted, switched Proton versions a few times, then it just seemed to work. No idea why.
The second issue was, once I finally got past that, I got a "Failed to initialize. Error code: 17"... Restarting the game seemed to fix it.
Heroic Launcher -> Settings -> Advanced -> EOS Overlay (Enable) Use UMU as Proton Runtime (Enable)
A few changes in the Heroic Launcher settings got it working. It would crash on startup without tinkering. It's currently free on Epic Game Store, so worth picking up.
