Works out of the box almost without issues
Some stuttering, appears do be loading related. After it happens in an area once it goes away. I don't remember stuttering being there on Windows or they were less noticeable but I could just misremember since it has been a while. It is not too intrusive since it only happens once and after you inevitably die and reload it is completely gone
Works completely fine. Would be nice if you could enable DLSS from the get go.
If you have an RTX card use "PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 %command%" as launch option to be able to enable DLSS in the options menu (without the quotation marks of course). It worked 100% fine for me but your mileage may vary.
Worked without any issue, even with DLSS and RTX
When moving the map around with the mouse and exiting while you are doing that the sound that plays when you move the map continues even tho you closed the map
My Switch Pro Controller doesn't work if launched with Easy-Anti Cheat on. I can hear sounds from Steam big picture (even if it is disabled) and it functions like on the desktop (right stick = mouse movement). Launching without EAC fixes this problem.
Proton Experimental bleeding-edge beta is required.
Either enable bleeding-edge and download proton easy-anti cheat or change the file steam launches by copying and renaming executables.
PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 VKD3D_CONFIG=dxr11 VKD3D_FEATURE_LEVEL=12_1 PROTON_HIDE_NVIDIA_GPU=0 DXVK_ASYNC=1 gamemoderun %command%
enabled usage of dinput8.dll for modding
Putting Grass to anything but Medium made the game run extremly slow, sometimes sub 30 fps
Multiplayer with the "Seamless Co-op" mod works like a charm, didn't bother to test the regular one as I find it inferior.
Runs better than on windows aside from the grass issue
The game runs fine, except the voice chat, which is to crucial of a feature to say this game functions well on Linux/Proton.
Voice Chat doesn't work
Really annoying audio crackling and it happens about once very chapter or so. I can push through it, but I doubt most people would.
a game restart fixes it; audio server is pipewire 1.0.0, with wireplumber 0.4.16
In the main menu the mouse can be very stuttery
While the main in-game performance is as expected, I had 1 cutscene (after chapter 1) where the game dropped down to ~7fps and seemed to run single threaded.
Great game overall, just very performance hungry and the probably Linux specific issues I already described.
The EA launcher starts and then immediately crashes completely. Meaning I have never been ingame.
I tried different proton versions, drivers, X11 vs Wayland.
Hit play and start playing. No issues whatsoever.
I tested the game with DX12 and with Vulkan. DX12 seems to run a little faster. Didn't try DX11 since I remembered it being noticeably slower on Windows
Not Starting
Game doesn't start at all. Tried multiple Proton Version (6.3-8; 7.0-4; Experimental; bleeding-edge; GE-33)
