Quick black screen and crash to menu despite the common workarounds.
Launch optionss : VK_ICD_FILENAMES=/usr/share/vulkan/icd.d/nvidia_icd.json PROTON_LOG=1 %command%
.
The ucrtbase.ddl switch did not help.
Very well supported, nothing to complain about
VKD3D_FEATURE_LEVEL=12_0 %command%
Disabled EAC by renaming eldenring.exe
to start_protected_game.exe
(keep a backup of the original start_protected_game.exe
).
Multiplayer features will probably not work because of EAC deactivation. Thansk to the previous tinkerer who posted the exe renaming trick.
Works correctly for all features available offline, including the campaign. Replayability impacted because of features locked behind online
Occasional freeze with need to restart during longer sessions.
Nothing special, works well with graphics on max settings with my GPU.
A 2-3s freeze can happen sometimes during NPC chatter. But at long enough intervals (1h or more) than it is not too disturbing. It looks like the game does register inputs during this time so I higly recommend to just press escape and wait for the game to unfreeze.
Worked correctly with Steam Runtime
I have both Steam with runtime and Steam Native installed. It works only when launching via Steam Runtime.
Works well, multiplayer included
Multiplayer becomes laggy when there are too much distance between each players
Played with other players on Windows without issue, with the game hosted on my PC with Proton.
The multiplayer lag is visible on Windows machines too.
Works perfectly, even with graphical settings set to "Ultra"
I only tried the "Win7" mode (selected when launching the game).
Not sure what the Win10 mode changes.
Complete PC freeze on initial loading after clicking play on launcher. Tried steam overlay disabling, gamemoderun, some proton options
gamemoderun %command%
At best a crash to desktop, at worst borked computer. Closing the steam library before launching helped avoid complete freeze
