After setting Proton to 8.0-5 (which wasn't default for some reason), it has been perfect so far.
Not sure what version of Proton it was trying to use by default, but it didn't worked until I manually selected Proton 8.0-5
It has artifacts in the linux native version. But the windows version + proton works fine.
It has black boxes in certain areas using the native linux version: https://files.catbox.moe/b6f8r8.mp4
It doesn't happen using the windows version with proton.
As long you change the polling rate, or use a mouse with low rate by default, you'll be able to play it.
Had to use a different mouse! Unfortunately, ratbag can't change the polling rate my ROG Gladius II mouse.
The polling rate
The polling rate problems others have mentioned.
+com_skipIntroVideo 1 -skipmovies
In the past, this game used to have problems with the mouse polling rate, but not anymore. It works perfect now.
+set r_fullscreen 1 +set com_skipintrovideos 1
Only works with Proton 5.13-6. Only get a black screen with newer versions.
Some people seem to be able to launch it with any version, but that didn't work for me.
6.21-GE-1 GloriousEggroll
It works perfectly with Glorious Eggroll. Originally tested with Proton-6.21-GE-1 and then updated to the latest GE release, and still works fine.
(after starting the game, you may get a black screen. Just press enter to continue)
It doesn't detect the mouse clicks correctly, is unplayable.
It doesn't detect most of the clicks, and since this game is completely played with mouse, this bug makes it unplayable.
Had to downgrade to a previous version of the game. To manifest 6826767635041408931 to be exact.
This game is no longer on sale and its no longer on development, and its last update completely broke it.
I used DepotDownloader to downgrade it to its previous version, and with that it works correctly.
If someone wants to try it, downgrade the depot 807921 to manifest 6826767635041408931
It only shows a black screen
The game is unplayable.
Without any launch options, it just doesn't start at all.
Using PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%
you get a black screen, with the background music, but it is still unplayable.
Using PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%
is required. Without it, the game only shows a black screen.
Using Proton-GE is required to have good performance. Otherwise it will be too slow!
By using PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%
with Proton 6.3-8 I was able to get a decent framerate. The game is completely playable like this.
It just works!
I tested with Proton 6.3-8 and the latest Proton-GE. It works fine with both.
