Runs very well out of the box
There's not much to say. The game ran without the need of any kind of tinkering
Playable and stable, Live action episodes work but has video-related issues
Episodes don't show up correctly and goes out of sync with the audio, despite in-game videos plays fine, probably a streaming issue since they aren't saved locally and streaming from a server.
Surprisingly great performance espiceally with dimensions hopping with so little VRAM and RAM usage
I remember playing it on Windows and it wasn't a smooth experience.
The area celebrating Ratchet & Clank used to dip below 60 FPS, but here it's a consistent 80-90 FPS.
the VRAM usage was around 9GB to 10GB out of 12GB while Windows already consumed it all.
the RAM usage was at 11GB out of 32GB, which is surprising since Windows was taking around 25GB
The dimension hopping moment went very smoothly with a 3500 MB/s SSD while Windows sadly was struggling with it. I also tested with a 2400 MB/s which ran the same way but with a minor unnoticeable hitch
Low CPU & GPU usage and FPS dipping below 60
FPS is 50-60 most of the times unlike on Windows it's 70-80 I noticed the CPU & GPU utilization are low, like GPU being 70-80% usage But unlike Windows the game is free from huge stutters and FPS swings found typically in situations like the car scene at the opening (which did repeatedly in my Windows testing)
I did try some of the variables that others suggested, but they either crash the game or don't change anything
Steady High performance with no stuttering
I reported before the game barely utilizing the GPU.
Now after the help of a friend, I got it running 80+ FPS at native 1440p (no RT sadly)
the two major things I did were:
1. I removed amd-gpu-pro-firmware and installed gpu-firmware
2. downgrade then upgrade Mesa drivers. (because they were stuck erroring out at every system update)
Now the game runs smoothly and stutter free unlike with Windows.
average FPS: Windows 69 Linux 97
Maximum FPS: Windows 85 Linux 109
1% Low FPS: Windows 42 Linux 39
0.1% Low FPS: Windows 18 Linux 37
Works out of the box like a charm. No tinkering needed.
Although the game is strangley locked to 60. You'll have to add "DXVK_FRAME_RATE=# %command%" to up the limit and turn on vsync so it can reach that.
