2K launcher is not working via Proton. It could be fixed by running the game directly. My launch options:
bash -c 'exec "${@/2KLauncher\/LauncherPatcher.exe/Build\/Final\/BioshockHD.exe}"' -- %command% -nointro
The game works well exept 2K launcher issue
I used MGROverride to set 1440p resolution
Sometimes audio stop working. Only restarting the game helps
Can't go back to the game after switching to other window (with Alt-Tab)
The game stops recognizing the controller after a while (both wired and bluetooth). Disabling power saving on the controller in the steam settings helped me
FPS is not stable on high resolution. It's critical when you try to beat bosses without damage (especially Monsoon). Sometimes the parry window is too short, so you can't avoid getting damage. Setting the lowest resolution is a workaround
The game works almost perfectly out of the box. Controller is supported. You may need mods only if you want to play in high resolution like 1440p and higher
Use Mod Organizer 2 for handling mods
I didn't manage to install recommended 4GB patch but the game still runs great
60+ fps at 1440p max settings but the game has stutters and achivements doesn't work
- random stutters once in a several minutes
- steam achivements doesn't work. In-game notification is displayed but achivements aren't syncronized with steam
It was running very poor on the first launch with 25 fps. Tinckering didn't help. After soft update and reboot performance was fixed
DXVK_ASYNC=1 %command%
Random stutters, it almost ruined my race a few times. Not critical but very annoing
Steam achivements don't work out of the box. I have to set DXVK_ASYNC=1 to fix it
It was running very poor on the first launch with 25 fps. Tinckering didn't help. After soft update and reboot performance was fixed. FYI: the game has DRM with activation limit per day. This is a pain if you want to try different proton versions
