Works out of the box. I changed to 8.0-4 since that was slightly more stable, but YMMV.

In my 14 hour playthrough, it crashed four times, each time my system rebooted completely.
The crashing only became a problem near the end of the game; unclear why. No other issues.

Lighting was very bad; shadows and textures would flicker often
Minor problem with starting the game. Had to switch from Fullscreen to WIndowed and back for actual fullscreen. Otherwise, the window was 1080p on my 1440p monitor
Frame stutter
GPU crashes almost constantly
It seems that there's a driver issue with AMD cards. I wasn't able to fix it. Looking at the log files, I got the following two errors: [E 00:00:40,167] vkWaitForFences() failed with error VK_ERROR_DEVICE_LOST [E 00:00:40,167] [graphics] Vulkan device lost... [E 00:00:40,167] Stopping process due to unrecoverable GPU crash!
And the most common one:
[W 00:03:11,557] [server] Failed to open Server Info message. error='out of memory' [E 00:03:11,559] vkWaitForFences() timed out after 10.00 s.. probably a driver crash! [E 00:03:11,559] [graphics] Vulkan device lost... [E 00:03:11,559] Stopping process due to unrecoverable GPU crash!
Updating my Mesa drivers seemed to help with the first issue, but the game is still massively unstable (crashed after increasing the graphics settings) and is brutal on the eyes. Can't recommend this one until a fix comes out.
Very bad FPS
Not sure if this is just the game, but sensitivity needed to be lowered all the way and was still too high. Could be due to the mouse acceleration that Pop!_OS has on by default.
Inconsistent FPS. It would hit 60 then plummet to 20
Runs great out of the box
The game was using a lot of CPU and that seemed to be causing some general stuttering and severe audio crackling from everything. Turning down CPU usage and pre-rendered frames worked like a charm.

Runs great out of the box
When hitting the super key to change windows, it would take me multiple tries to get back into the game, and sometimes result in the game displaying on my secondary monitor instead. Using Alt-tab seems to work every time.
Works out of the box
When I used the Super key to move between apps, it took me many tries to get back into the game. However, if I actually Alt-Tab, it works fine.
Game just closes after loading GameGuard
Seems the anti-cheat is not compatible with Linux. An old sad story. Every time I launch the game, I see GameGuard launch, get a moment where the game tries to launch, then it immediately closes. RIP.
Game functions slightly differently depending on Proton Version, but never actually works
Ok, so with Experimental, GE 8-30, 7-55 to 7-50, and 8.0-5 all behave the same: they crash immediately after launching. GameGuard loads for a few seconds, then a black screen pops up and closes immediately after. There are two exceptions. Proton GE 7-49 loads a black screen and hangs indefinitely. Proton 7.0-6 throws an error saying it "requires graphics card that supports at least Direct3d 12_0."
This could just be GameGuard, but I'm beginning to think that it's also just generic Linux issues.
Any bugs are not due to Linux
Game works well on Linux. There are still plenty of bugs, but they are not due to Proton.
Depends. If you're only in it for the single player campaign, you'll have a blast.
Not much but noticeable in some sections
Matchmaking is impossible without enabling EAC, which obviously doesn't play nice. Online co-op for campaign had some very peculiar issues. EXTREME desyncing. My friend would be jumping into a wall and shooting at nothing; we had to kill every enemy twice; etc. After a while of that, he would crash or disconnect.
Singleplayer works great.
I played with mods. r2modman works great with this game; only minor bugs from the mods and those are being ironed out with updates. Absoluetly no issues.
It works out of the box. Not much to say.
Could just be the game. It is a little buggy.
If you want to mod it, do not use the BepInEx version for Linux. Use this guide, substitute Risk of Rain 2 for Outward, and use the Windows version to get it set up. https://bepinex.github.io/bepinex_docs/master/articles/advanced/steam_interop.html?tabs=tabid-1 After that, mods should work without issue if you installed them correctly.

Occasional slight jittering
Great game, runs great out of the box.
Multiplayer had problems with joining, but those were fixed after following these steps (thank you, LinLo!): https://steamcommunity.com/app/1575940/discussions/1/7026264603287932608/#c7026264603290039319
Borked. Likely due to EAC
Tried multiple version of Proton: Proton Experimental, 8.0-4, and 7.0-6
Memory error. Always before the main menu screen and always tells you that you can't play the game. Probably will stay this way until the devs allow Linux OS's in the EAC settings.

First, I couldn't get past the 'Connecting...' screen before the main menu. After adding clearcpuid=304 as a kernal parameter, I got past this, but had crashes every 2-3 games. After a lot of searching, I switched to Proton Hotfix and changed my vm.max_map_count setting to 2147483642; this fixed the crashing.
If you are having similar issues, follow this guide (https://www.gamingonlinux.com/2024/01/the-finals-freezing-on-linux-heres-ways-you-can-fix-it/). It pretty well explains everything I did to get it working.
Alt-tab would work fine at first, but after a couple times, I would notice a massive drop in FPS and resolution.
The game has lag for everyone, not just Linux. You will sometimes get shot from around cover or lose a duel because of it. It happens a lot.
CPU temp was very high and the game refused to go above around 45 FPS consistently
With Steam overlay enabled, the game would crash before loading the main menu. Once disabled, game ran fine.
If you are experiencing crashes before you get the main menu, try GE 9-13 and/or disable Steam overlay. If you get pasty that and can't get good performance no matter the graphics settings you try, try disabling Performance Boost in your BIOS; worked for me.

Game boots and loads but hangs
Used to install Webview2
No matter what I try, the game hangs forever on "Stocking the Emporium." I installed Webview2 on the prefix (which was quite a journey), tried numerous Proton Versions, numerous launch options, Modded Realms, and Official Realms. Nothing lets me load the main menu.
