Works great with proton-5.13-6
Use Proton-5.13-6 When I tried to use Proton-6.3, Endless Space 2, would run for about 5 min and then crash with a wine error: Too many threads. I watched the thread count for the game and it started about 150 threads and added about 5 per second. Sometime after hitting 1000 threads the game crashed. Running Endless Space 2 under Proton-5.13-6 consistently uses about 165 threads and runs for hours without issue.

Some flickering in on distant object (like trees) in the first play area only. After leaving the first area, all subsequent areas look good and were flicker free.
Loading Screen Never Finishes
Tried both Proton 4.2-9 (which crashes) and 4.11-9 (which never leaves the Endless Space 2 loading screen.) I also tried each version with and without "PROTON_NO_D3D11=1 %command%". The game still would not run. I note that BEFORE the new Linux Steam client Endless Space 2 did work via Proton. (I have no idea why the new steam client prevents this game from working. Games like Skyrim still work well with Proton.)
I had fun playing a complete game of Fallout 4. Almost 150 hours. It froze 5 times in that entire play.
Crashed about 5 times in 150 hours of play.
Fallout 4 would only work with Proton 5.0 it would not start with Proton 5.13
Played entire Mirror's Edge using Proton.
Need to turn off PhysX in game settings menue, else have very slow refresh rate. Also, on rare occasion (every hour or so) there is a frame slow-down issue, usually when in very close, confined space.
Can only play the first area (gas station). Could never load the 2nd area.
After the first area (gas station) at the end of the cutscene, the game states "now loading" for ever. I could not get the second area to load. I tried both windowed and windowless. I also tried the python script noted by other reporters on protondb without success.
