All settings to low
Some text in UI is small
Mibor frame drops from 60fps
Not sure what happened with the other reviews, but I was able to launch and run this game out of the box with no tinkering needed. I'm able to play it handheld or docked seamlessly. Not sure if an update happened that changed anything or if they have some weird stuff like Cyroutilities installed or their UMFA Buffer size changed, but in any case you shouldn't be considering doing that to your Steamdeck in the first place.
In handheld mode, the game will always try to use gamepad UI, so whenever you use mouse or touchscreen controls, it will be unresponsive and the UI will rapidly switch fron gamepad to keyboard icons
When you are in the menu, it is best to switch to Mouse Only layout until you load into a game, otherwise you wont be able to select anything because the input is bugged for steamdeck at the time of this recording, though this bug isnt present while in game or while docked. This game looks and feels like a mix between a better CoD MW2019 and Krunker.io. If that doesnt make sense, play both games, then this, then you will understand. This game runs very well, looks great, controls great, and its less than 2gb! On top of that, you can launch the game and hop into an online match within less than a minute. Everything from customization, movement, and animations feel so great. This has honestly replaced my go to shooter which was previously CoD. Hopefully the developers fix the input bug, though as stated before, this can be easily overlooked by taking a few seconds out of the possible hours you'll be playing this game by sqitching to mouse only when needed, or just playing the game with your Steamdeck docked.
If not launched with GE-Proton7-42, the game will give a window popup of a C++ install script and will not let you install even if you select yes.
While in game, if you dock the Steamdeck to an external display, sometimes it will retain the Steamdeck's aspect ratio and resolution on said display until the game is relaunched.
Game not installing C++ upon selection when not forcing a specific version of Proton.
This game will NOT run out of the box on Steamdeck despite what other reviews have said from my experience (I have tested this on my own and a friend's Steamdeck who's had no modifications). Make sure you force compatibility with GE-Proton7-42 or C++ will not install and you wont be able to fully launch the game. Once you get past that, this game is a blast and really hard to put down.
At the beginning when configuring resolution in settings sometimes your settings will reset.
Game runs at 40fps on multiplayer, 50 in an invite only lobby. Though maintains the frame rate consistent enough to still he smooth.
Slight performance drop. 40's in most lobbies, 50 in an invite session with another player.
Fun FPS game, decent Halo game. Despite what most YT vids show, with some tinkering you can get 60fps
L4 = LS click L5 = RS click R4 = B R5 = A Gyro = activate on left trigger full pull as right stick
Right trackpad as right stick. Click disabled.
With optimal settings, smaller text may be hard to read, especially on external displays.
Change the resolution in steam settings to 640x400, uninstall the high res textures, use steam deck FSR settings w/ 5 sharpness, and change resolution scaling to the lowest in the game settings. Make sure every other setting is turned to low, async compute off, and min & max fps set to 60. You will maintain 60fps fairly
Play Halo: MCC Anti-Cheat Disabled (Mods and Limited Services)
If playing in handheld mode, game will default to keyboard and mouse. You cant change this during a match, so you'll have to exit out into menu and take the temporary ban if you do so unless you connect a keyboard and mouse.
First time playing there is slight but brief slowdown.
Game will give a fatal error crash or lock up because of an EAC runtime error sometimes with multiplayer. Relaunching the game fixes this
Sometimes game will crash or not work with online even with correct settings unless rebooted.
EAC and fatal error issues. Relaunching fixed it.

Greag singleplayer, multiplayer, and gameplay. Lots of active players. These bugs are minor, have been addressed by the devs, and will be patched soon!
Game forgets tutorial has already been completed upon fresh install
Playable only with proton experimental
online will only work if proton experimental is enabled. Runs perfectly otherwise OTB

Game requires EA app to launch, which requires internet connection on every startup.
Game is a great return to form, though it requires internet for every launch, though after that, the game will play offline after you have started it up. Try out my settings and try tinkering with them for the best experience for you. 7/10, would he a 8 or 9 if you could launch it offline, but that is mostly an EA app problem, nothing with the game itself or the deck.
Direct X 12
Gamepad UI not supported
Make sure you launch the game with Direct X 12 and GE-Proton7-42 or you will not be able to install the needed C++ files and launch the game. Game runs and looks good docked and handheld at 720p ultra 60% resolution scaling and FSR set to balanced or performance. I get around 60 frames, but tinkering with the settings may deliver better performance. Gamepad UI isnt supported but thats fair given that this game is extremely into early access
L4: Left Stick Click L5: Right Stick Click R4: B R5: A
Right trackpad: As mouse (click disabled)
Gyro: as joystick. Left trigger full pull enable
Game will not launch and crash if you install on external storage from the steamdeck. Not sure what causes this, but this made be believe the game was unplayable for the longest time.
Do not install onto your sd card or any external storage. The game will bug out and even crash, sometimes it wont launch.
Looks, runs, and plays amazing with the Northstar client, which is easy to install. Great single & multiplayer content
Installed the Northstar modclient by watching this video: https://youtu.be/GxQTsOaY0_8
Changed L4 to Left stick click, changed L5 to Right stick click, changed R4 to B, changed R5 to A. Disabled touchscreen
With the Northstar client, no issues came up with findinf and staying in games.
This game requires constant internet to launch.
Ensure to rename the Northstar launcher to Titanfall2.exe or the mod will not work
