So far so good!
Only missing images at the start when choosing difficulty.
Game runs pretty good for my hardware, never dipped below 40 fps after shader compilation during and after first start up.
Very good despite slowdowns during and after cutscenes!
Missing images/videos in game, some areas of the game like the death screen and upgrade menus are supposed to have some sort of video or image that displays but as of now they're just black/white boxes.
The game gets severely slow during and after in game cutscenes, making it near unplayable. Restarting fixes the issue.
Despite the game getting very slow after cutscenes, the game itself is very optimized. My hardware was able to acheive 70+ FPS on the highest settings during gameplay.
Game looks like it launches, 5-10 seconds later the game never starts.
Tried installing dotnet452 and setting system version to Windows 7
Steam launches it like usual, but 5-10 seconds later steam shows the play button as if I didn't launch the game yet. Tried playing with and without the launcher and both had the exact same result. Installing dotnet452 and setting system version to Windows 7 did not change anything.
Game works as well as windows, just don't go into the beta branch and launch with no launcher.
As summary says, when launching the game, make sure you use the "No Launcher" version. The game won't launch if you try to use the Opt-in beta/alpha branch. Exporting cars to BeamNG will require you to manually move the exported cars from the compatdata folder of Automation to the compatdata folder of BeamNG unless you do something to link the two folders together. Mods don't work from what I've noticed.
As of LCV 4.2, The game works amazingly!
Game runs perfectly fine with my current hardware as of update LCV 4.2, absolutely no issues yet!
Workshop mods for this game now work without having to unpack them into the game's files, not sure about Beam NG exporting yet as I haven't tested that out yet but I'm pretty sure you might still have to link the export folder of Automation's prefix to Beam NG's prefix or just copy/paste the exports.
Works flawlessly on Proton Experimental (Bleeding Edge).
The game surprisingly runs better than on Windows for me, allowing me to have more NPCs walk around without the game being in unplayable framerates. The game's launcher also works flawlessly allowing me to link up my GOG account for the in-game rewards.
WINEDLLOVERRIDES="version,winmm=n,b" %command% -modded
Installed vcrun2022 and d3dcompiler_47 for mod compatibility
The launch options are if you do plan to use mods in the game. For me, sometimes the game would freeze up on the intro scene with the "CD Projekt RED" logo barely visible if the game has mods installed.
Switch to proton experimental (bleeding edge) if you want to use raytracing/path tracing features in the game.
Launches, flickers a lot during title screen and memory maxes out when trying to load into the game causing my entire pc to freeze.
Used Proton-7.0rc3-GE-1 with nothing in the launch options, I have tried Proton Experimental and Proton 6.3-8 but the game didn't launch for me on those.
With my hardware I got an FPS range of 30-50 on high settings depending on what's going on but overall very enjoyable.
The two intro videos at the start when launching were flickering a lot, tabbing out when in fullscreen makes the entire screen black only showing the task bar at the bottom.
From my experience, you have to use Proton Experimental Bleeding Edge otherwise the game will completely freeze and crash when trying to load in.

Audio/Visual Stuttering
A month ago the game was running with little to no crashing, now its crashing very frequently with no consistency on where the game crashes.
Occasional disconnecting from servers from time to time, but I think that's on the game's side.
The game would be enjoyable if it wasn't for the constant crashes. Sometimes the game would crash after 2 hours when loading an event and sometimes it would crash right after the title screen.
Splash screen shows up. Then only audio plays, no video
DXVK_ASYNC=1 gamemoderun gamescope -h 720 -H 1360 -f -U %command%
I've tried all the proton versions that worked for me before (including GE releases) and tried changing my launch options and nothing changes. It sounds like I'm still able to "navigate" the menus but there's absolutely no video after the splash screen.
Limited refresh rate to 40 hz, Limited TDP to 11.
Stability is very inconsistant, crashing at any given time. Stability gets even worse when the game is on a micro SD from what I've experienced.
I've noticed that proton experimental bleeding edge is the most stable for FH5 at the moment for me. With it the game doesn't crash within 30 seconds of driving around.
Starts, but immediately hangs as soon as it gets to the disclaimer screen.
I'm absolutely confused as to why this happens, the game was running somewhat fine until recently where it would completely hang up right as the disclaimer screen appears.
I have tried multiple proton versions and the exact same result happens.
Runs great out of the box!
I've noticed in the native version that text boxes and the map in game were flickering but switching to proton fixed it.
It runs, but there is a lot of freezing and stuttering regardless of proton version.
Often freezing and stuttering. Framerate sometimes drops to 10 fps or lower.
Using gamemode doesn't do anything to solve the freezing. Controllers work just as intended.
Text is very blurry, UI elements while driving are impossible to read.
The visuals are very blurry, making small text impossible to read and the driving extremely hard to do when you can't see anything ahead of you.
Some text is intentionally blurry, other smaller text details are too small to read
Game gets laggier as I continued playing it.
Livery selector does not work. It shows up but does not let me select any folder/file.
Very slight stuttering every now and then but it is very much bearable.
Only launched once
The game only opened once and refused to open again after closing it.
The game launches so inconsistently it's not worth doing a lot of tinkering for a very broken game.
DXVK_ASYNC=1 %command%
Somewhat unstable in fullscreen, screen blacks out if you tab out and back into the game.
Crashed nearly every time I exit to the main menu.
Sometimes, the game doesn't launch. Other times, the game launches into nothing but a black screen forcing you to go into multiple directories to delete cache files and the game can't even go back to the main menu without crashing.
DXVK_ASYNC=1 %command%
Framerate tanks in certain cutscenes in the story mode.
The game launches consistently now, no unexpected crashing at all anymore!
Multiplayer also works just as expected, no problems there.
Got placed in After Q3, let me throw my money at valve already!
I want the funny switch pc thing and red spinny openy closey thing said no u get it in 10 years from now
I can get to the main menu, but cannot connect to any server afterwards.
PROTON_USE_EAC_LINUX=1 gamemoderun %command%
Default proton (8.0-5 as of the time posting this) causes the game to crash right after the initial loading screens, Proton experimental has the same problem of not being able to connect to a server when queueing for anything.
--Using regular proton (8.0-5) causes the game to crash shortly after entering the main menu. Make sure to have the Proton Easy Anti Cheat runtime installed.
--Apparently setting the system's vm.max_map_count to 2147483642 solves the crashing but it did not for me. Try this at your own risk.
--If you do play Star Citizen and have the EAC workaround installed for it, edit the hosts file in /etc/hosts and remove/comment out the line mentioning EAC. If you don't do this, the game will refuse to let you join any server at all.
Changed some in-game controller binds to something more accessible
At certain points where a lot is happening (ex: explosion particles), the game almost freezes for a half second before resuming like normal.
Even though I had to change some controller binds both in and outside of the game and some slow downs at times, I found it really enjoyable and had a smooth experience.
