I am using the beta Vulkan driver and performance is wildly improved with regards to stuttering and the shaders caching.
Onlline was perfect - except for the potato servers and hits not registering - not a linux problem though!
Proton Experimental and Vulkan Beta drivers give a much better experience on Nvidia cards. No more stuttering or caching issues (used to get stuttering looking down the sights even with the cache files - all fixed)
Game appears to run flawlessly performance wise.
Missing cutscenes during game opening and when levelling up
GE versions of proton won't launch the game for me. Only Experimental works (and sometimes the cutscenes will load and work properly)
Cutscenes are in the wrong language. Everything else is correctly in english. No option to change cutscene language anywhere.
EAC worked fine, no issues playing online (other than chat server apparently disconnecting but I didnt use this functionality so cannot comment)
Game runs flawlessly. No graphical issues and the game runs smooth. No audio bugs or input issues. MP works flawlessly.
I did have some problems during initial set up when trying to install to a secondary SSD. Adding "uid=1000,gid=1000" to the mount options for the disk fixed this issue.
Was a pain to install due to the seperate launcher (which wouldn't run under proton experimental, had to use GE version to run it)
I suspect perfomance issues are because of the Alpha nature of the game. Variable frame rates and very long load times.
I would probably wait for the steam release before trying this game on Linux
Game has a native version, but force experimental proton for a much better experience. Stable 40fps on 40hz with proton enabled.
Locked to 40Hz
Some text is very small/blurry
Native client exists but performance is poor in comparison to running via proton. Was dropping to 28fps in some areas, but with proton I very rarely drop below 40, at most down to 38 in built up areas.
Launches and runs brilliantly. Just like native if not better.
Apparently tutorial videos don't load in the menus - never even noticed personally.
Worked flawlessly other than the fullscreen issue. Absolute blast with friends. Now they've fixed matchmaking that also works really well.
Setting fullscreen works for the session, but prevents the game from being started back up. Deleting the compat folder resets this and lets the game launch in windowed mode again.
I had occasional crashes, however this is more likely to due to game itself as friends on windows report crashes too
You need to install Steam via Bottles, then install V Rising via Steam running inside Bottles.
Bottles issues with Bottles freezing and popping up with the force close window over and over, despite the game working. Ignore the initial bottles frozen message and it will go away on its own.
You need to install Steam via Bottles, then log in to steam and install V Rising - it will then run and play. Steam via Bottles has really bad visual issues, such as the screen going black. Generally running the mouse over the black area makes it come back, but another park goes black instead.
EAC Untrusted error - none of the workaround steps work. Unable to get past this error.
EAC is garbage and Fatshark are lazy, purposefully abstructive to the linux community, and their refusal to even acknowledge linux currently shows they care more about money than the community.
