You have to install the new Ubisoft launcher and replace the files of the old one which are in the prefix of your game, which should be under your Steam Library folder. If it is not you can just simply locate the files using Steam, it will direct you to the folder where they are installed.
Not able to run the game, the Menu works fine and everything else does not.

CS:GO at least ran, this does not and it does not seem to have a fix as of now, I am glad that they have a native version. The game is very nice, I have many hours into it. I hope we will get access to CS:GO in the future, as we do not have access to it now.
Although it requires some getting used to (crashes) it can still be enjoyed (even with Wayland and the 550 drivers), I know I enjoyed it.
The game slowed down every time there was a lot going on in the scene, but it should not have. My GPU/CPU was not even running at full torque.
The crashes were frequent, but they did happen right after the game saved my game, and because launching times were really fast I just hopped back into where I was from. There were 4 times it crashed before saving.
There are major issues without c1-launcher being installed, so I recommend installing it. (https://github.com/ccomrade/c1-launcher) Only with that installed was I able to get into the game and play it. Otherwise it would crash out even with experiemental enabled. My advise will be to take more time to experiment with older Proton versions, I only tried Experimental and 9.0-2.
All in all, the game is really good, it looks really good and even though it did lag while playing it, I still had fun. Some might call that an authentic Crysis experience. The graphics are amazing for 2008. Totally recommended as a title people should play in 2024.
It runs great, it runs better than on Windows because of DXVK.
Great game, should be considered in 2023 if not played before. The story is quite touching. I have played through the whole story. The only caviats I have experienced are some slight flickers in the distance (present on Windows) and there is a scene in a mission that you cannot finish because you get too high FPS (this happens on Windows too), I recommend setting the monitor refresh rate to 60 and turning on Vsync, keep in mind that Vsync adds input lag, so you have to be extra concentrated to play through that.
From my experience it is just an install away from running, just make sure that your partition is ext4 instead of NTFS if you just switched
The only issue is when you press home to access the in-game Rockstar Launcher your cursor is not visible, if you are a muscle memory person like me you can use it like that, but otherwise I would suggest switching to the other menus and control the game with the in-game settings and the other tabs available there. Those are enough for PS and Xbox users, that means they should be enough for you.
GTA V is an epic game, I have went through the story on Linux, so I can confirm that the whole Story Mode works fine on Linux. I still make GTA V storyline references as, in my perspective the world there is really much reflective of the world we live in now (minus all the bank robberies exaggerations and stuff like that). I would totally recommend playing this in 2024, especially as GTA VI is coming out next year, we have to get over this once and for all. There are no graphical glitches, there are no issues with other things either. Have fun!
It runs great, players would not notice that it is not on Windows.
GTA Vice City is a fabuleous game, it is the first game completed (fully) on Linux (I do not have much time). I am playing through the GTA franchise and I have played GTA III which did also work fabuleously (PS the aim worked better than it did on Windows, for some reason), and I am currently playing GTA IV which does not really show the stutters it was widely known for on Windows.
I have not seen any resolurion issues, texture glitches and etc. The missions can be played through with ease, physics are as they should be and etc. Linux gaming is awesome!
People on the Vice City thread, and not only, usually have problems of it installing, but not launching. I for a fact know that this can be because of the permissions of the HDD, especially if you just moved to Linux and have the game installed into a secondary HDD, do a recursive chown there and it should be fine. You can find more intel on that here: https://devconnected.com/how-to-chown-recursive-on-linux/. I do not really know why Proton cannot play games off these disks, because I know, for a fact, that Wine can and, also, you can play native games installed on them.
-w 1920 -h 1080
I am really surprised that there was no Linux native version of this game.
You will have to add the launch option otherwise the game would crash at once. For some reason (at least for me) the game does not default to my resolution, so I had to set it myself.
-w is the width and -h is the height, you can set your resolution accordingly.
Really great game, even though the game does not have the best storyline, it does have great gameplay. You can play this with friends, co-op through the levels, if you do not want to play singleplayer. I played the majority in singleplayer and I am looking forward to play the 2nd version of this game.
Enjoyable like you it would be on Windows, with the right customisation of course (used Proton 8.0-4 works fine)
gamemoderun DXVK_ASYNC=1 %command%
If you call the cursor disappearing a significant bug then yes, did not try newer Proton versions though, so it might be gone.
Was able to enjoy it like a Windows user, even better.
The cursor will disappear for some reason with my config if take it out of the Window without Alt + Tabbing, before it used to crash to the desktop, but now it has improved leading me to think that it will be gone soon.
A shooter like no other, in the ages of badly optimised titles this 2017 era wonder is what you should opt for no matter your sill level. This game has gained players over the time I played it and that is really nice to see. CS:GO players in particular should consider switching if they do not like the way CS2 handles performance. Playing Quake Champions Quadding everyone on Linux, the devs actually care which is really cool to see, but we need more and more players to make them keep the servers up. One of the funnest games to play with your friends, especially making tournaments is really cool too! QUAKE FOREVER!!!
Really easy to setup (you do nothing literally)
There were some minor slowdowns when the cutscenes were loading in or if the game was loading new areas, but nothing too major.
The last time I played the series was when I played the Michonne game, but that does not include the same story as this one did. Either way this game was really cool and I totally recommend it. I played Season 2 in 2019 with my old PC with a Core 2 Duo 2.4GHz a HDD and 2GBs of ram. It ran really well, it pretty much shows how much the developers cared about optimisation here. This game really goes to show that there are old (less demanding) games which can be played on "slow" hardware. If you pick it up, enjoy your play!
DXVK_FRAME_RATE=120 __GL_SYNC_TO_VBLANK=1 %command%
There were some steps required to make the game run (possibly because I was running it on extremely high end hardware). I limited the framerate cap to 120 to make the physics work properly and I had other options to make the game launch properly (I do not remember exactly what the issue was).
