Medium settings, 40 fps for long battery, configure how you desire
Got past the main menu and into gameplay, works flawlessly with the latest version of Proton:GE.
Runs perfectly, sleep mode doesn't break the game, default config works great with the deck's trackpads and the steam controller! Been playing for hours no problem.
Medium settings, default distance and density
Rockstar launcher login
No idea what people are on about with the R* launcher not working. Works fine, better performance than I expected. Definitely an enjoyable experience.
Constant stuttering
On my installation GTA V has stutters. I tried proton experimental, Steam recommended proton and proton-GE and nothing stopped the stuttering. Windows is perfectly smooth, so for now I decided to use that because whatever it is its not to my liking and likely wont be fixed anytime soon. Make sure to cap your fps because you will get additional stutters if you don't. 120/60 fps.
Sadly gyro mouse doesn't work as cleanly as I'd of liked
Runs great, you can do medium settings 90 fps, cap it to 60 for stability, or do battery saver 40/30 fps, or trade it off for better resolution/graphics
The game runs great, but is surprisingly heavy. Can't achieve 90 fps medium, so I went for 60 fps high/medium. 16 watts usage.
You need Proton GE to see fmv cutscenes properly. Runs great, though no true 16:10 without tinkering.
The game runs without any tinkering, but is even better with Proton-GE, fusion fix and upscaling mods!
gamemoderun %command%
To get fusion working, select Resident Evil in Protontricks, select default prefix, go into winecfg, then library, now add an override by typing "dinput8", select that one and click "Add". If it says "dinput 8, (native, builtin)" in the list you're good to go. Apply the settings, and now Resident Evil should startup the dinput8 in the game files and properly apply fusion.
Sometimes upon game startup the game has black bar artifacts on the screen, simply restart the game and it'll be gone.
Can not go higher than 1920x1080 without ThirteenAG's fusion fix
Your monitor will go into sleep mode without "gamemoderun %command%" in steam properties if using controller.
Turn off upload saves to avoid crashes
Even if you don't want to apply ThirteenAG's fusion fix, use Proton-GE, without it there will be no FMVs and there will be an error screen as regular Proton legally can't have the required codec.
Works Fantastically on the Deck OLED. Over all a great experience even on Default settings.
Increased gyro sensitivity
Crackling when resuming from sleep mode
FPS dips on Default settings, drop shadows to High to reduce significantly. FSR Ultra Quality.
I used CryoUtilities and changed bios VRAM UMA frame buffer. No issues or stuttering.
Steamtinkerlaunch: -w 3840 -h 2160 -W 2560 -H 1440 -f -e --force-grab-cursor --nested-refresh 165 --expose-wayland --
Memory leak after 20-30~ish minutes of gameplay
Memory leak issues causing eventual full pc slow down
I used steamtinkerlaunch and the launch options here for my setup. I also used gamescope. Mangohud works fine, can get into gameplay with it. There is severe performance degradation after 20-ish minutes where I go from 165 frames at max, raytracing to 85 with constantly spiking frame time, until my entire computer slows to a halt another 30 minutes later. Cannot be fixed without restarting the game. Is probably a memory leak, may be caused by changing graphical settings or gamescope?
Set to 4-5 watts TDP
Sometimes on the Deck Stardew Valley can register mouse input and then keep preferring the mouse, so if you wanna use joystick it will place in the direction of the mouse instead. It's an annoying bug and the only way to fix it is to restart your game/Deck.
Would disconnect sometimes, could be my WiFi connection so ymmv
Stardew Valley is such a great game, I'm in love with it. On the deck it's even better. Being able to play from the comfort of your own bed in this handheld form or playing outside is fantastic. Highly recommend, runs perfect natively no proton needed. Works with SMAPI if you follow the Linux install guide!
