Wine-TKG
I had to add this to the launch options: "env WINEDLLOVERRIDES="cchromaeditorlibrary64=" %command% " because they broke the game for linux with the latest patch 4 that added the druid class. That launch option disables it.
RADV_PERFTEST=nosam VKD3D_CONFIG=DXR11 gamemoderun %command%
Tip: Disable network features since apparently the game uses a lot of CPU for each npc and if networking is enabled you get random pawns from other people populating your world and logic dictates that for each pawn(npc) more cpu is used. I disabled it and the game ran much smoother. (might be just my experience) but worth a try if you have issues.
I had to use "protontricks -c 'wine64 uninstaller' 359320" to uninstall mono and i had to fetch a file from: https://github.com/redmcg/wine-mono/releases/download/wine-mono-5.1.1.2_ED/wine-mono-5.1.1.2_ED-x86.msi and install that instead.
Proton-4.21-GE-2 GloriousEggroll
I wanted to play the game recently but for the life of me i could not get it to run at all, i had to get a specific proton version "Proton-4.21-GE-2" and then install the mf-install from github (even though they say it's no longer necessary since it's incorporated in recent versions of proton/wine. Well for this game that does not work. If you get this "Proton-4.21-GE-2" and do the mf-install from github make sure the mf-install script has no errors, since i had a issue with that as well. But once i figured out to fix the script on a arch-base. The game runs wonderfully.
GPU crashes in the open world, assuming it's as the map textures are loading in the background, and crashing in general.
vm.max_map_count = 1000000
In the open world map the game will crash my GPU repeatedly rendering the game unplayable, i tried every launch arguement nothing works not even "nodcc", the game simply crashes the GPU and there is no fix or even many people talking about it.
Repeated GPU crashes
It works. No issues out of the box.
Works fine, don't even notice a difference Linux or not.
Not sure why ProtonDB says it's "bronze" it's completely borked so a bit inaccurate
Doesn't work at all thanks to their anti-cheat(which is useless btw, read the reviews hackers run rampant. so they waste our time and theirs implementing such systems)
This game only works with proton version 4-11-13, it also needs the mf-install fix from https://github.com/z0z0z/mf-install but that script won't work on any of the new wine versions, you need to use wine 5.x to run that script or the game simply won't work. So set proton the 4-11-13, launch the game it will fail, make sure you have wine 5.x installed run mf-install script
It worked fine. Out of the box, i did disable uplay overlay following a suggestion on this page from one of the other comments.
UBI enabled support a few hours ago, and it works perfectly. Doesn't even crash like it does on windows. Really happy about this!
Works out of the box now, just be sure to install the proton anticheat runtime in Steam.
