D-Pad as arrow keys, Start as Escape, all other buttons as separate keys
Defaulted to Gamepad controls, but those kept dropping inputs. Custom keyboard bindings worked fine, may add touchpad-based fast travel later.
Tried out a selection of levels from both the base game and Neo Cosmos DLC. Haven't played any community maps yet. Make sure to calibrate latency.
Tested campaign, solo play, and custom songs. Worked well enough that I've got a couple #3 rankings on global leaderboards. ;P
Was able to get to the Showroom chapter out of the box. Biggest problem was an unrelated SteamVR lag bug.
The full game was able to detect and load my save from the free demo. Most of the demo's achievements popped again right away, but some needed some nudging. Can recommend as a more wholesome take on the "Survivors-like" genre.
Runs pretty much perfectly. Was able to 100% in roughly 3 hours, thanks to achievement guides.
If Alt+Tab is used, the keyboard stops working, forcing an Alt+F4.
Easy Anti-Cheat broke it. :(
Worked pretty well up until today's update. Biggest issue was getting dropped from games, but that might have actually been the insane network traffic since this game is so popular. Now I can get into the menu, but it gives an "Anti-cheat error" when I try to enter matchmaking.
Works great OOTB, but has some issues.
Game window captures all keyboard input, even when not in focus
Tends to crash after approximately 1 hour of game time. Luckily the levels are short enough that this isn't a huge issue.
Haven't tested on Windows, so these issues might not be Proton-based.
Crashes immediately, even with ProtonGE
Admittedly, I haven't tried any further tinkering. But I'll leave that for people with more free time than me.
Skip the native version.
The devs silently stopped supporting Linux but never killed the Linux repo, so by default Steam will download the outdated native version. Achievements and stuff still work, but none of the content from Dark onward is present. Played the beginning of the Dark level with Proton just to verify that it works.
If you don't mind a minor framerate hit, do yourself a favor and skip the native version. (You can force the use of Proton in the Properties menu.)
Challenge Mode fully works, had no issues with multiple sessions. Only tried public lobbies, friend integration untested.
Picked up my cloud save without issue. Tried out the lost chapter update and some BeatPoint grinding in both Challenge and Playlist modes. No issues encountered.
UI is minimalist to the point of being somewhat counter-intuitive, but gets the job done. Was able to clear the entire first area and a part of the second with no issue. Achievements will pop after quitting from the main menu with the "hamburger" button (just above right joystick on Deck).
Runs near perfect!
No audio in the Frontier ident on boot
Was able to play and complete a couple parks in the Career mode and do some mild achievement hunting in Sandbox. Even remembered my Windows cloud save from literal years ago!
Trackpads for menu navigation, ABXY bound to fjru, D-pad bound to dkei
Picked up my cloud save without issue. Custom bindings are kinda jank, but get the job done. Surprisingly good for a mobile port.
In-game music is missing, also experienced some chiptune-sounding crackling. Recommend putting on your own tunes in another window, or looking up the OST on YouTube.
Saved coaster designs are stored in this game's compatdata folder. Can be found at ~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/1368820/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Documents/RCT3/Coasters
if installed in default library location.
Was able to test the peep creator and do some minor fiddling in a Sandbox map. Everything seems good and feels like it did in the Windows XP era (minus the lack of music), but there's a lot of the game that I wasn't able to test due to time constraints.
(Also, fans of OpenRCT2 will be disappointed to hear that the cheap Corkscrew Coaster design doesn't work in this game. But Marcel Vos' "Junior Cheap" design is still a great early-scenario money printer!)
Runs pretty much as expected.
When first booted, save selector doesn't register mouse. Fixable by alt-tabbing out then clicking the window in the system tray. Trying to alt-tab back in crashes the game. Also crashed when I tried to pull up the Steam overlay, but I only tried that once.
Was able to beat the first three scenarios. Pretty impressive, considering the original was written in Assembly.
Launch Option: LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/libfreetype.so.6 %command%
Native version works after tweaking launch options. Was able to run the graphics benchmark, play the entire tutorial, and start a game.
Quick GloriousEggroll tweak made it work more or less perfectly. Was able to 100% Artisans, including Sunny Flight.
Cutscenes played alright, thanks to GloriousEggroll, but for some reason the opening cutscene for Spyro 1 was in the wrong language. Once actually in-game, though, the voice acting for the dragons was in English.
Consistently shows up on my second monitor on boot, but I can move it by going into options, making the game run in windowed mode, moving the window, and re-enabling fullscreen
Devs added EAC despite widespread community backlash
gamemoderun %command%
The devs announced that they would be adding EAC with only 24 hours notice. Everyone we know who used VRChat was appalled, as this would kill client-side mods that provide basic accessibility features, significant Quality-of-Life improvements, and in some cases allow the game to run at all. It was also pointed out that the EAC implementation wasn't even effective for the stated reasons, and was completely bypassed within hours of the announcement.
Despite all this, including the most-upvoted post ever on their own feedback forum, the devs pushed the update to stable anyway.

After applying the mentioned tweaks, I've experienced no issues. Framerate does dip when there's a lot of particle effects on screen, but it's not severe enough to hinder gameplay.

Had to run the exe through a non-steam shortcut for KB+M to work in the menus and text chat.
If your connection drops mid-mission, you may be forced to do a Host Migration and end up in a solo squad. This can be disastrous for high-level content. Double check your in-game network settings.
If you prefer gamepad controls: Game Mode works fine without any tweaks, but won't let you navigate the menus with a KB+M, or use a physical keyboard for text chat.
If you prefer Keyboard+Mouse: By adding Warframe.x64.exe
as a Non-Steam Shortcut, setting a couple launch options, and running in Desktop Mode, you can trick the game into not using its borked SIAPI integration. Be sure to rename this shortcut to make it clear it's the non-SIAPI version! (Note: This workaround resets in-game options to defaults, and breaks Steam Achievements)
