Launching with proton experimental like alot of people here suggested and everything workes as it should
As mentioned by others, disabling iGpu is neccessary but in my case if I use the steam launch option fallout is asking for my bethesda account credentials because it wants to migrate the game from bethesda to steam. bethesda help page suggest to leave launch options blank. So I had to disable the iGpu in UEFI. After that game runs great, just crash on quit.
a good game that works flawlessly
Works out of the box. Don't even need proton just enable in: steam>settings>compatibility>"enable steam play for all other titles". After a few hours of testing, i had no visual glitches nor denuvo kicked me out of the game.
mangohud %command%
even on very low resolution (<1280x720), with all effects disabled and fps lock via mangohud(90fps), it pushes a heavy load on gpu. often cant reach desired fps.
Launches with or without proton - no difference at all.
My gpu draws 300W on low res. Tjunc sitting at 90°C for inconsistent 70fps with 1280 x 720. Increasing the Resolution makes no difference whatsoever. Lowering gives you the desired performance but playing with 640x480 or less(and still draw 150-220W) is not cool at all.
Runs ootb
no tinkering needed, runs fine. at least with the same performance issues already known from windows.
Good hunting, stalker.
switch to proton experimental, sto-launcher takes its time after pressing engage but nothing else. game runs perfectly fine.
a pleasure to play
no tinkering, no proton. runs out of the box with a pretty decent performance. even fsr3 worked flawlessly. visual glitches here and there but nothing game breaking, more funny stuff like excited water.
using mods from steam workshop + skse + proton experimental. game needs a moment after pressing play from its own launcher(not steam)
set proton to experimental, launch game with windows 8.1/10 option and the other settings on high/ultra. played for around 2h without any issue.
