Everything works maxed out at 4k except that you can't enable DLSS or Ray Tracing. Works with wireless xbox one controller.
Perf aside, the missing audio is the real killer. A normal player would be missing out on the feel of Night City without its sound.
Radio music does not play, ambient sounds are missing, cops voices and gun shots sounds are all missing.
FPS is way lower than it should be on this level of hardware.
I am able to max out all the settings at 4K resolution, but since Proton does not support Ray-tracing, HDR or DLSS these settings are not able to be turned on/toggled.
The frame stutters are severe and ruin the experience. The floating rocks/foliage, cinematic crashes and hangs make it worse.
Foliage and rocks floating throughout the map.
Massive sudden stutters, entire in-game cinematics skipping or coming to a complete halt.
It usually crashes at in-game cinematic scenes (like meeting the corpse disposal at the beginning).
With the massive stutters, frequent crashes, cinematic hangs and floating foliage/rocks it's a deal breaker.
Rocks and foliage are floating everywhere. I've tried the AO turn on and off trick, but it does not work. They remain floating everywhere in the scene.
Massive stutters, especially if you rotate around quickly to view your surroundings. It dips as low as 1fps, shouldn't happen on my hardware.
It would often crash near or at in-game cinematics.
It would also hang at in-game cinematics, but the audio would keep playing. It would no longer accept input or do anything but audio keeps playing.
Running at Ultra Nightmare at 4k without a hitch, above 100 fps at all times.
On occasion, starting Doom Eternal would result in audio crackling. Usually restarting Ubuntu would suffice to fix it for the next start of the game.
The game works perfectly with a wireless Xbox One controller and official xbox pc dongle as well, including vibrations! It runs perfectly with 5.13 out-of-the-box, with the exception of the audio crackling that happens once in a while.
The DirectX installer appears on clicking Play, clicking continue it seems to work but then additional items install crashes.
Works great at 4k with maxed out graphics settings. Network connection works too, and wireless Xbox one controller works.
The installation seems to go fine and you can see the Rockstar club screens, even enable cloud saves. After that though it just closes.
This is the out-of-the-box experience, no tweaks done.
The game does not even start up. The installers appear, there's a brief showing of Rockstar club app, then it closes.
Before it closes itself, I see a small Wine window appear on the top left with a small Rockstar logo. Seems like a mini desktop view of Wine appearing. I do not have Wine installed on this computer, just native Steam.
Starting a new game, after initial loading screen all you get is a black screen. Does not matter if it's on DirectX12 or DirectX11.
The main menu that shows Nemesis in full 3D works, so it can definitely render. Something causes it to black screen crash after starting a new game. Basically unplayable for new time players.
It runs great at 4k with Epic maxed out settings. Wireless Xbox One controller works with it too, just that vibrations don't seem to work.
Starts up with a black fullscreen, then kills itself shortly after 2-3 seconds.
The inability to play cinematics at 4k makes the game lose it's storyline.
Momentary game pauses when a big action takes place.
All the cinematics don't play, instead you get a TV color test screen playing instead.
