Worked OOTB
No issues whatsoever during this current playtest.
No issues at all
The devs on discord released an update that explained proton 6.3-8 now works on playtest 2, even with EAC. I figured I'd try it out again. After a fresh install of EndeavourOS, and installing the latest proprietary nVidia drivers and switching to the GEFORCE RTX 3080 via optimus in my laptop, I experienced no issues installing, getting into, or playing the game after installing Steam Runtime.
Unable to get the game to load
I tried both native and runtime clients, no luck. I also tried 6.8-3 and up on both, again, no luck. Switched between X11 and Wayland on KDE, nothing.
Unfortunately this is a no-go as of right now.
Open beta runs OOTB
Connection was excellent. No issues or lag.
No issues with the open beta so far. I used proton 7.0-4 and everything was flawless.
Perfect!
Works great on Linux Mint. Installed and played via Proton 7.0-6 and everything is flawless.
Ran just fine with 7.0-4
Game runs great on the Deck, almost as if it were native. No issues whatsoever.
Won't open - EAC
They waited 2 weeks, the time after Steam refunds were possible, to let us know they will not support current Linux distributions. I'll remember that when the millions of us get our SteamDeck and they want our money and finally enable it. Too bad, I spent 18 hours on Windows to try it only to learn this. https://forums.playlostark.com/t/will-lost-ark-run-on-the-steam-deck/35624/9?
40th Anniversary update borked it
With the latest anniversary update, nothing will load up
Even with the previous launch options:
PROTON_USE_DXVK=1 -FastLaunch
PROTON_LOG=1 %command% -FastLaunch
gamemoderun %command% -FastLaunch
I even tried a complete re-install with no luck. Tried GE-Proton7-38, Experimental and Proton 7.0-4 & Proton 6.3-8. No dice. Hopefully there's a fix or solution somewhere in the pipeline.
Works better than Windows
I've had no issues playing online at all. My connectivity is great.
The performance of this game on my laptop has been exceptional. To my surprise, I have had a better gaming experience using EndeavourOS compared to my Windows partition. The upcoming price increase in mid-January 2023 is well worth it, so if you come across this message later, do not hesitate to take advantage of this hidden gem.
Works fairly well
Seemed to be some graphic lag until everything rendered
Minus the graphical lag stuttering issue which resolves itself over time, everything works fairly well on both the main game and the multiplayer test environment. This was done on Proton Experimental, haven't tried any other versions as of yet.
With the official singleplayer release, things seem to have gotten worse even though it doesn't appear much has changed.
Intro shows the old TV no signal colorful background, as well as when at the main screen in the background.
Had to switch to Windowed Fullscreen in order to prevent severe graphical stuttering.
Had to switch graphical settings in order to play without gameplay-crippling stuttering.
Cannot play using the runtime steam client whatsoever. Immediate crashing under proton experimental, 7.0-1 and 6.8-3. MUST use native client with at least 6.8-3.
Windowed Fullscreen 1920X1080
Gamma 2.0
FOV 90
View Distance - Far
Anti-Aliasing - Low
All else under scalibility set to High
Anything not mentioned here is default
It runs on Deck, not ideal without additional peripherals IMO
I set reload (R Key) to B, at a temporary minimum, to test the game
There's some performance degrations that will want you to run OP:HD on medium graphical settings. Fine turning via Steam Deck performance settings didn't make too much difference but I didn't experiment much. FSR seemed to make things a bit more smooth.
OP:HD runs on the Steam Deck better than I originally expected. Trying to play with the Deck by itself might be difficult. However, if you plan to use a portable monitor w/ mouse and keyboard connected to a Dock with your Deck, your experience will be more than manageable with the way things currently are.
Works perfectly OOTB
No isses at all. Works out of the box and is really fun to play.
prime-run %command%
Works without issues on EndeavourOS. Tried both Proton Experimental and 7.0-6 and both worked equally as well. Also tried it on the regular Linux kernal without issue.
No issues with arcade, haven't tried realistic as of yet.
Game installed, opened, and played just fine.
Works great on Steam Native client
I had no issues at all running WOTH on the Steam Native client. I technically used Experimental and all went fairly well.
I finished the first few missions required to get multiplayer enabled, but it was still grayed out. I'm not sure exactly why that is considering I didn't have this issue on my Windows partition.
I did try using the Steam Runtime client and it took about two minutes to load beyond the initial black loadup screen. I also had sound issues. I would suggest only running this game in the native client.
The game runs more smoothly on my Garuda partition than it does on my Windows 11 partition. I hope that remains the case as updates are provided.
PROTON_USE_WINED3D11=1 %command%
No connection issues whatsoever
I just had to make sure to right click on World of Tanks Blitz in my Steam library, click properties, then enter the following under launch options: PROTON_USE_WINED3D11=1 %command%
Running without the launch command under proton 6.3-8 gave me a centered windowed black screen and a non-windowed black screen in the upper left hand corner. For me the launch option command above was mandatory.
