Full screen can sometimes feel "misaligned"
If you install mods, just know that there are some mods that are incompatible with Linux.
Hope you like giving yourself a migraine trying to walk 10 feet.
Ran like peanut butter
Freezes at loading screen. Upon reading other reviews, this seems to be a very new issue with the open beta.
The games run perfectly and out of the many hours I put into this game. Not once have I experienced an issue with it.
Use official launcher install script from Lutris site
The opening cutscene will cause your game to hang. To fix this, go to "My Documents" -> Final Fantasy XIV Folder -> edit FFXIV.cfg -> change CutsceneMovieOpening to 1. It should now load to the Character Select Screen and then you can now play.
This game is native to Linux and you really shouldn't have any problems playing this game with others, no matter what OS.
Runs perfectly. No problems encountered in all my hours playing.
Considering my Distro, this was the only game that worked out of the box.
You can forget installing complex mods as NVSE requires a lot of effort and overall is not worth it.
Works fine, I wouldn't say "Like Native"
On Gentoo, Source games do not work out of the box if running Native. You have to add -mstackrealign to CFLAGS/CXXFLAGS in package.env for glibc. Then, you would have to recompile glibc to allow source games to work under Gentoo. It is much easier to run source games under Proton instead.
You have to recompile glibc with -mstackrealign in package.env to run source games natively.
If you play with friends only, Modded Realm is perfectly fine.
You have to play in Modded Realm Only. Do not buy DLCs while running Linux. If you want them to work, you have to first launch in Official Realms on windows to get DLCs to work.
