Only change I have made is using a GE version of Proton (https://github.com/GloriousEggroll/proton-ge-custom/releases) I used version 6.5-GE-2, no other tinkering or launch options. Previous report mentions VOIP not working for him/her but it worked just fine for me.
If your VOIP is not working (default keybind is left Ctrl) you can use the in-game VOIP fix - Press ESC and look for "Having VOIP Problems?" (top left) and follow those instructions.
If you don't care about playing online multiplayer then I guess it's ok to play solo.
I tried to create a private session, my friend could enter the lobby but could not join the game (timeouts when trying to connect). He then tried to create a private game but I could not connect. I then tried creating a public session, same issue. I then tried joining a public session, same issue. No multiplayer.
Tried many different proton version including GEs
I don't get prompted with the Xbox Live login, no login, no play. If anyone knows how to get the login prompt please let me know. Message me on Steam (Winglessprune)
Tried all the fixes from previous posts but to no avail, just simply doesn't work on my system.
After clicking PLAY I get the splash screen and then nothing... game just stops.
Forcing Proton-5.0-10 run the game once. It crashes but creates the compdata files you need for protontricks. ($ protontricks --gui, select Space Engineers) install dontnet48. I did not need anything else. After installing dotnet force Proton-5.21-GE-1, this fixes the sound bug. no need to install faudio (broke my install at first). Game has run great after 2+ hours af gameplay.
Some things worked for me but might not work for you. If you really want this game, keep trying.
