Game needs codec "media foudation". With proton experimental = game is playable without bug, except videos dont launch. With GE-Proton8-27 (latest release) = there is a problem of display on the videos

Use Glorious Eggroll Proton fork and disable ESYNC in launch options, game will run as good as if it was native.
Disable ESYNC will stop the occasional crashes.
Glorious Eggroll 6.1-GE-2 will allow videos and menus to display correctly.

The game after the installation just would not run. Every time I press "play" it will just not launch the game

Videos are broken. Menu are completely white or missing texture
The game in singleplayer mode works fine, video files are not playing in vanilla proton versions.
The only issue i found is that apart from working server browser, i couldn't join or create any game.
In addition, installing Proton GE fixes video files not playing.

Game crashes within 20 minutes of play if esync is not disabled.
Menu background and video cut-scenes will not play without Media Foundation, but the game is still playable without it.
Alt-Tab works but the whole system becomes unresponsive for about 10 seconds. I didn't try multiplayer but the server lobby works fine.
Works fine with DXVK (d3d11) on Vulkan
Now with Proton 5.0/latest update of the game there's no need of starting in safe mode, and no sound stuttering found.

Sky box doesn't show up. Main menu has a white background. Videos do not play.
Crashed twice in 30 minutes playing the campaign.
Didn't need to do the "Safe Mode" launch mentioned in other reports. In fact that doesn't seem to be an option at all anymore.

Played through the first mission. The game works by choosing Safe Mode from the launch menu. The background is plain white in the main menu but does not affect its usability. This "plain whiteness" bug also briefly appeared as a box in the first mission but did not affect the gameplay in any way. During loading screens and cinematics the audio can stutter and distort a bit.
