The game definately isn't 100% optimized but it runs fine on mint in my experience, just use Proton Experimental.
There are random fps drop every few minutes, but still very playable on low setting
When loading or creating a game, it will “Stop Responding” and for it to load, you have to repeatedly click “wait”, then eventually it will load the game.
Seems locked around 40 FPS, no matter what graphical options.
Game runs too poorly for a good experience.
Game runs super slowly when the Steam Deck should absolutely have 0 problems running this.
Add some form of mouse to navigate the pause menu, otherwise works totally fine
Game has controller support, but not in the pause menu. Thus you'll need to add a mouse option of your choosing to navigate the pause menu so you don't get locked in.
Obviously not a huge problem given the game at hand, but it did drop to high 20s during the most intense moments on "rocket computer" graphics settings.
Every game I tried played perfectly. Performance is completely acceptable.
Won't make it past world loading.
Able to boot into the main menu and select a character, but then the game freezes on the loading screen. Tried with multiple versions of Proton. A look through the forums suggests that a built-in reset script can fix it, but since that uses the registry editor I can't run it.
Performance is chunky, but Coin Game is fully playable
Lock framerate to 30
Out of the box, Coin Game's framerate fluctuates around the low-30s, dropping into the high 20s in busy areas. Even after turning graphic settings way down, you will struggle to get a steady 60FPS; it's best to lower settings modestly and lock the FPS to 30 from the quick access menu.
With a 30FPS lock and a slight reduction in ingame graphics, Coin Game runs just as it does on Windows.
Runs Perfect
Water in the lake seemed glitchy, but I'm not sure if the Windows version has this bug as well. Not really a big deal though.
Had no problems setting this up, just downloaded it and ran it. Everything worked out of the box.
Worked very well. Constant 144fps the only framedrop I had was after lighting 16 smoke bombs.
Game performance is terrible on my given hardware, seems to be due to severe optimization needs.
winecfg to set virtual desktop resolution to 1600x900
Game would not allow holding ALT to bring up graphics settings for resolution and windowed mode
Terrible Performance, sub 30 fps with lowest in game settings at 1600x900
Only added the start argument and it works good enough. Wait for optimizing and turn graphic down.
Without "PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 PROTON_NO_FSYNC=1", the game was not playable only 2-8 FPS
The input is kinda weird, though I think this might just be the game, as I saw simular beaviear on a streamer.
On medium I only get 24-30 FPS with an i7 and gtx 980, and GPU and VRAM is maxed, I have less hardware use and games like overwatch. But is proberbly douto alpha game.
I'd say this is still a pretty enjoyable experience. Proton wise.
Water in the lake flickers and so does the lamp in the babysitting house.
From High settings 50-60fps on Windows, down to Low at 50fps.
Besides the usual jankiness of an Early Access game, it runs as expected.
It's still clearly early access but everything I tried seemed to work just as well as it does on Windows
Works until you pause, then shits the bed.
When pausing the game for the first time after startup, the mouse cursor would stop moving, forcing me to tab out and tab back in, after which point clicking any button on my mouse would make my camera jarringly jump and look to the right in the game and would only barely register other inputs from my mouse, and it definitely seemed like the false "look right" inputs were taking priority.
The demo appears to run fine. I've played this for ~15-20 minutes without issue. It doesn't run great on my laptop, but I think that has more to do with not having a dedicated GPU than anything. The minimum specs are a GTX960, and the developer specifically says no intel hd GPUs.
That said, I am running at around 20FPS After changing to potato quality in the settings, which is almost playable depending on the game.
It has some strange mouse behavior at times, but it's perfectly playable
It has some strange mouse behavior, but everything runs really well
