Forced the use of Proton Experimental just to get the install button in steam to turn blue and clickable. No further tinkering.
Game plays exactly like Windows. Note to those who want to play, FPS is dependent on CPU.
Slight artifact on water
Required no changes, worked with default controls, and the gameplay lends itself well to the deck for a shooter.
All text is readable but people with poor eyesight may have trouble with some text.
Multiplayer performance was perfect, and due to the slow nature of the gameplay (muskets afterall) it does not feel like a disadvantage at all to be using a controller.
This game used to run fine in previous updates, after this update performance issues began to happen.

Could not break out of low FPS
In Mangohud CPU could not break out of the 20% range and GPU was pinned at 99%. Noticed a significant 107ms delay. I tried Proton GE 7-21 through GE 7-31 along with Proton 7.0-4 and Proton Experimental, I did this while also deleteing the compdata file and there was still no change in performance.

Performance is awful
Framerate often dips below 20fps on settings that never ran lower than 50fps on windows. Even the main menu drops FPS like crazy
After fixing the fullscreen issue it was as good as playing on windows.
I had to reset the game to use fullscreen, but after that no problems.
This game works fine on Linux, but you need to play on X.org server, because on Wayland you will have a bad performance.
On wayland i had freezes and bad synchronization
Will not launch.
Hitting play opens the smaller window and says the game is preparing to launch, the window stays open for a few seconds before closing. Steam will claim that I'm in game for about a minute, but the game never launches.
The game runs better on windows, I could play it with 1080p and stable frames, on linux 45 frames lowest graphics/720p
Water textures missing now and then.
Depending on the resolution the game some times, didn't allow me to switch to another resolution. So it black screened at placed me back to the one i had originally.
I use to get stable frames on windows, when i used to play this game on 1080p and with medium graphics, but now that i played a few rounds on linux with proton, i needed to lower the settings of the game down to 720p as well, take the graphics to their lowest possible to have a stable 45 frames.
