Force the use of vulkan as api and you will see a better performance in the game both in FPS and reduced visual effects degradations.

Punkbuster anti-cheat, but to be honest I don't care because I got the game due to the Campaign mode
Works, amazing, I needed to use this command "PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command% NOSPLASHPRELOAD" with (4-11-13 version).
Like everyone I added "PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command% NOSPLASHPRELOAD" with proton (4-11-13). Even with a limited computer, I didn't have a single crash problem with this especific version of the proton. The 5-13-6 version, unfortunately brought me screen lags.

Before the last updates, less than 2 weeks ago, the game worked perfectly without microstuttering. Now, with each game update, this reappears.

Use Proton 4-11-13 and install the Hammer of Thyrion mod, Windows version - it can be found in the Steam guides.

I had screen lag with Proton version 7, I switched to GE-Proton and added the command line "PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1" . Game is running 100% well and with high FPS

Using a third-party launcher/installer with Lutris wich adds new configs and you will have a mostly excellent experience.
Excellent performance even for modest computers. The same version of Proton used in Napoleon can be used to charge the Empire.
The native version requires more hardware than the game really needs, so I advise you to play via PRoton (4.11-13) without fear. There will be no bugs!
Use the 4-11-13 proton and you will have no flawsl. It works for Empire Total War with the same result.
