40~ fps for the most part with minor stuttering during intense moments involving multiple hunters and monsters. Monsters like Teostra and Lunastra cause significant fps drops in the later parts of their fight but they seem to be the only exception. Mods require some tinkering to setup but work perfectly.

Game runs fine but battery life is a bit lacking and audio crackles without custom launch options
PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC=60 %command%
9 tdp limit @ 40 fps
Text too small
Audio crackling, fixed with a launch option

Frame limit 45 fps
Works great

Tdp set to 8 watts
L4 & R4 used as d pads
8 watts TDP
Some text needs to zoom

alot of trouble shooting. like adding PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC=60 %command%
or swaping out for spefic version of GE proton or normal proton reinstalling the game etc
alot of cracling when using the deck speakers to the point that i refuse to play the game like this. when pluged into a external dac it's mostly nothing with a few bits of very cracly audio every once and a while

TDP slider at 8 when not plugged in
UI text can often be too small for the Steam Deck's screen
slight FPS drops when striking monsters especially during online hunts, they are quick enough to not distrupt the experience.
good experience on the Steam Deck, perfomance ranges between 45 to 60 FPS pretty easily especially on low settings.
battery life and heating are both problems with the game, it's quite heavy so I recommend playing it with the Deck plugged in instead.

TDP limit
Text is too small, even with the large text settings

When using the high resolution texture pack, VRAM will sometimes spike and become a slideshow.
Using 800p HDR, Mid-High settings, frame cap of 40fps.
Averages 30-40fps.

Yeah sure, because this game runs fine at 40 - 45 Hz, which is unnoticeably different from 60Hz on the console. Moreover, by adjusting the g
Cryo Utility
10 TDP - 1000 Clock - 45Hz. Sometime with 2 - 3 monsters at the same time, it needs to be set up 11 TDP - 1200 Clock.
A little bit hard to read items' description. However, text size can be change in setting. So it's not a big problem.
It's kinda blur af if you set the Image Quality at Low. It should be set: Image Quality - High, then every others setting go Low - Med.
Yeah man, but only maintain maximum 40Hz, and sometimes the FPS gonna suffer af because 3 monsters go 4-some you.

40FPS cap
Text is a bit small due to the small resolution, FSR upscaling made it alot more readable.
Your deck will run HOT playing this game depending on what settings you use; I wouldn't recommend turning down the TDP or GPU Clock speed at all due to the performance hit you will get.

Text is a bit small on Steam Deck Screen.
Running through default settings it runs very well. The downside is the text and UI is not scaled well on the Steam Deck. The name input was a bit wonky as well on the steam deck as well. Overall would recommend.

Set refresh rate to 30hz in order to preserve battery and maintain a locked target. Mix of medium/high settings to more or less match the original Ps4/XBONE presentation.
Recommend FXAA over TAA for a sharper image, DX12 was most stable.

CryoUtilities2.0 with recommended settings from creator
Running CryoUtilities2.0 I am able to set it at medium settings and get a stable 60fps

WINEDLLOVERRIDES="dinput8.dll,loader.dll=n,b" %command%
I got Skippable Cutscenes mod to work
Launch the game once (for newly installed)
Switch to Desktop Mode
Install Protontricks
Launch Protontricks > select MHW > select "Select the defaults wineprefix" > select "Install a windows DLL or component" > checkbox vcrun2022 and install it
For mod installation, just do the usual steps, download the mod zip and extract it in the game's main folder. You need to use Stacker Loader 3.0.0
Set the game launch options, use below: WINEDLLOVERRIDES="dinput8.dll,loader.dll=n,b" %command%
When the game is launched you will be prompted an error windows saying wrong versions for Subspecies loader and Quest Loader, ignore the error and switch window to the game itself (STEAM button > Switch Windows).
had some graphic glitches - fix: Turn Direct X12 on in main menu settings & anti-aliasing to fxaa or off against the blurriness
Using dx12 and FidelityFX CAS + Upscaling under Display Options (sharpness 0.6). Started with Low preset, but sneaked up a few settings like foliage sway and AO. Uncapped framerate, refresh rate to 50 and turned on v-sync.
No extra tweaking required, though I made a few concessions to keep temps low while still looking great. Game feels right at home on handheld. Even the most important mod of all, Iceborne Community Edition (ICE), works after a few extra steps (check their Discord for instructions).

12w limit, 40Hz
the game frooze my entire System after 20-30 minutes, using GE-Proton8-4 and the Ingame Option for DirectX 12 to "Yes" fixed these Problems. Sessions for 4 Hours with no Problems. So im assuming its running flawless now
encountered Hard crashes without these steps, i strongly recommend them
default settings, 12w limit, 40hz, stable 40 fps with sometimes drops to 30 in ancient forrest
12w limit
use dx12 for big performance boost

Make sure to turn on DX12 from the title screen settings.
Make sure to turn on DX12 from the title screen settings.
text still hard to read for me
quick resume distorted the audio until i went back to base
works right out of the box
Locked to 40FPS on low. It can't run it any higher anyways.
Text is quite small and very difficult to read on the deck.
30 fps perfect
Sometimes the test is either unreadable or flattened. But chat, subtitles and other elements of text graphics (or text) are readable
I did not find a working button to skip videos that I already know by heart
Since I play with constant rolling blackouts in my country, I have to use 4G which is constantly either reduced in speed or disconnected periodically. So, the game works stably with all the above prescribed factors
I play at the maximum available graphics settings and the game runs stable at 30-40 fps without delays and lags. Multiplayer is fully functional. I would say that this is one of the most stable games, not counting the problematic tex
The game runs great, you can get a somewhat solid 60 FPS or locked 30 depending on your preference.
Graphics settings were set to low with the in-game FSR turned on.
With the framerate limit set to 60, was able to get around 2 hours of battery while playing on various maps with a full charge.
With the framerate limit set to 30. I was able to get around 3 1/2 hours of battery from full charge.
I did not tweak the TDP so you may be able to get more by doing so.
Multiplayer works great, had no issues with it.
Make sure to turn on DX12 from the title screen settings.
Limited framerate to 45fps, limited refresh rate to 45Hz
Some text can be hard to read
Encountered green/blue/white flashing artifacts in HQ zone, and occasional artifacting in missions. Resolved when enabling DX12 from the title screen display settings.
Switched to 30fps
In some quests sometimes heavy artifacts appear and or the game crashes.
In some quests sometimes heavy artifacts appear and or the game crashes.
40hz/40fps
Text is a little small at 720p and 800p
Only noticed this during initial Teostra hunt given the time ive played. Blue flies would sometimes artifact throughout the map https://steamcommunity.com/id/Le_Gonger/screenshots/
I changed graphic settings to mid, enabled DirectX 12, enabled FidelityFX CAS + Upscaling, and disabled the framerate limit, then dropped the deck's refresh rate to 40Hz for this game. Looks good, feels good, and it's a smooth 40 fps without drawing too much power.
I've been waking up with this game on deck. I'm over 200 hours now and haven't had any issues of note. Once or twice I've gotten a "failed to save game" message, but apparently this is a sporadic issue on every platform, including the console versions. All cutscenes and videos work. No crashes, no issues at all. I do avoid suspending it, since that can screw up the audio on resume sometimes, but that's about it.
Switch to DX12
Absolutely no issues, performance even stable during a 4-person Alatreon hunt.
You'll 100% need to switch to DX12 in the menu.

The text is a little small
DirectX 12 fixed artifact issues
Turned graphics to low and turned on direct X 12
Proton experimental allows for 60 fps during gameplay, default proton I was only getting ~45

customized right trackpad settings to my thumbs. R4 button set to B is important.
text is a bit small on steam deck.
same as with steam controller, this game sometimes shows jerky camera movement. check you ingame camera settings and disable some of the auto-camera movements.
did not experience any difference compared to running this on a windows machine.
There is an option in title screen menu: "Activate DirectX 12 API". Make sure to set it to "on". While having it set to "off" I encountered heavy flickering and textures blurrying which often led to game crashing. I didn't pin point the exact cause yet but so far it seems to appear mostly on Coral Highlands and Hoarfrost Reach maps while hunting tempered monsters. One quest where I was able to consistently trigger this behaviour was Arch-Tempered Namielle event quest. Start at camp 12 and track down Namielle while turning around your camera. Return to camp 12 and repeat if it didn't appeared first time (most likely will appear on 1st try tho). Setting it to "on" seems to fix this and I didn't encounter this issue since. The game runs flawlessly so far with this setting set to "on".
Make sure to got to Options > Display in title screen menu and set "Activate DirectX 12 API" to "on" (see abobe why). I also recommend locking FPS to 30 in display menu. You might be able to achieve 30~50 FPS without it depending on setup of other display settings but I think stable 30 is better than unstable 30~50. I was even able to run the game on highest settings with more or less stable 30 FPS (with occasional drops to 25), but you might want to tone it down to high, mid or even low to boost performence, get stable FPS and extend battery life.
