Works perfectly out of the box
Works out-of-the-box!

Works perfect out of the box (did not try multiplayer)
Install and play.

I had issues with Proton Expirimental in the main menu when it was asking to push any key. I switched to version 8.x and was able to play the game and start from my cloud synced level

Game won't launch
I have tried multiple versions of Proton, GE proton, and Wine
I tried a lot of fixes and wish it would run. Not sure how this game is platinum for everyone else but I cannot get the game to even boot up. Returning game for sure.

- TDP Target 7W
- GPU Core Target 900 MHz
Default controls are easy and intuitive. Very fun and easy to pick up RTS for the Deck.

overall a great game and mostly stable on linux but needs a little more tlc to get it to 100%
minor gaps in terrain at certain places - a halo wars issue rather than proton.
need to toggle fullscreen in the game options menu to set.
game froze when viewing a mid-scale battle and then displayed the message "connection to the graphics adaptor was lost 887A0007" before crashng to desktop once pressing ok.
if units are too close to base when requesting transport, pelicans may get stuck hovering and will stay there until destroyed

need to toggle fullscreen in the options menu to set
severe hanging duing a battle between multiple units - picture froze but audio continued as normal - had to force quit out of steam
as described
usually a great experience so was not expecting this to happen.

near perfect experience
game launches windowed - need to toggle fullscreen in game options for it to be set.
minus a minor startup annoyance - the game works flawlessly even with a controller - i suggest going into the video folder of the game and deleting both 343 & microsoft cinematic intro files which will resuilt in a faster startup.
Perfect out of the box
Perfect experience without any extra settings, identical to Windows
Near perfect experience out-of-the-box, except for a small full-screen issue.
Each time, need to go to in-game options to switch to windowed and back to fullscreen.
Full campaign play-through. Since this game is primarily campaign mode, and even multiplayer is co-op campaign, that is all you really need to know.
Probably the best handling RTS on the Steam Deck (Since its was originally released on the Xbox 360). Runs flawlessly, without any hiccups.
Cutscenes are running in 720p, so there will be black bars, but other than that, its a good experience
Cursor detection is off, use gamescope to get around the issue.
Taskbar visible when boot. Need to disable/re-enable fullscreen in settings menu.

Runs perfectly out of the box. Default settings.
May not be related to linux, could be a native bug.
Runs perfect out of the box
Runs just fine out of the box on Arch Linux.
when selecting anything on the menu screen, you have to select it just above it. its like the menu off a bit.
DON'T USE GAMEMODE!!! it wont run with gamemode.
Works out of the box. Enable Steam Play, and you're good to go.
I used 6.3-2 and it worked perfectly. I didn't have high expectations from Microsoft, but it was playable even on my low-end hardware.
Runs out of the box

Crashes on black screen
I tried normal and safe mode. Both just pop up a black window, then close immediately.

Proton-GE 5.21-GE-1 GloriousEggroll
The game runs very well but moving the camera fells slow and selecting units is awkward
Ran perfectly with no tweaks required.
Works perfectly. No issues.

Menu work properly. Extreme lag (< 1 FPS) in game. Causes full system video to lock up until the game is closed.

Once the shader cache is filled the game runs flawless and without any issues.

runs great, but with some stuttering

Online, single player and skirmish were all tested. Works perfectly with no issues noticed

With the latest drivers and Proton version the game runs solid out-of-the-box. It runs at 90-100fps with a few initial laggies which fix themselves after about 10 seconds.

Disabling D3d11 made the camera and build menu much quicker, though it still lags badly at the beginning of every skirmish.

Everything works, but some small graphic effects are missing (build menu hover) and performance when moving the camera is horrible.

No tweaks necessary. Works perfectly out of box. Couldn't tell apart from a native title. Performance is great too after initial shader compilation.

Solid. Game runs perfectly, 60fps at max. Controller support work out of the box. I experienced one crash (not sure why, seemed random) otherwise it seems native.

Mainly tested online, just as responsive as on Windows with both kb+m and wired 360 gamepad, did encounter a corrupted audio issue after multiple hours once

Somehow mouse stops responding - I could not choose anything in menu... Hopefully switch to window mode helps.

Still crashes when trying to load manual save. Autosave works great.

Crashes when trying to load manual save game. Otherwise perfect
