Added XLiveless DLL
Steam's default circle-shaped deadzone constricts diagonal aiming speed on the right analog stick. To fix this, change stick deadzone to "Custom" and then deadzone shape from "Circle" to "Cross."
With default Proton, the main menu background video is replaced by a test pattern. I used GE-Proton to circumvent this, but you can also just ignore it if it doesn't bother you.

First launch the game to generate the config.ini file located here: /SteamLibrary/steamapps/compatdata/45720/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/Local/capcom/lostplanetcolonies/config.ini
Open config.ini and set Resolution=1920x1080
Next download Xliveless: https://community.pcgamingwiki.com/files/file/576-xliveless/
Place the Xliveless files in the games directory: /SteamLibrary/steamapps/common/Lost Planet Colonies
Setting the resolution lower than 1920x1080 seems to freeze the game during launch

TDP 7 to get 40 FPS
- Game will not boot until you add these two files from link to game root folder
- Insanely fast loading times even from MicroSD
- No support for mixed controls.
- No cloud save.

This game was never switched from Games for Windows Live to Steamworks so you have to download, extract, and place the xlive.dll file from this link https://community.pcgamingwiki.com/files/file/576-xliveless/ into the primary game folder in the Steam directory.
Mapped left and right stick clicks to l4 and r4.
After making the .dll change everything worked fine and I was able to play through the campaign with no issues.

Ran game at max settings but locked to 40fps/40hz using SteamOS overlay.
Game is no longer available on Steam. I used an installer gained by other means.
Added installer to Steam as non-Steam game, and ran using Proton Experimental.
When game had installed, I updated my non-Steam properties to point to the *.exe installed in the compatapp directory. I ran the game using the DirectX 9 executable, not the DirectX 10 executable as I had read reports of graphical issues when launched in this way.
The game will boot no problem under Proton Experimental, but WMV video will not play unless using the latest GEProton. I did try installing the Windows Media DLL using Proton Tricks, but I encountered an error each time. GE solved this problem.
Game runs great. I tried playing first in desktop mode and found a lot of slowdown. Under gaming mode on the Deck it runs at a solid, unshakeable 40fps/40hz. With tweaks, could likely hit 60fps, but I'm happy with the slightly lower power draw at 40.

Black screen/No Main Menu
I've tried following previous reports but I only get a capcom splash screen then a black screen. There's nothing to interact with unless I try to Alt+F4 which brings up a yes and no prompt. That's as much of the game as I have seen.

GAME WORKS BUT you must install WMP 11 with protontricks and extract all 32 bits dll of DXVK in system32 of wineprefix game.
You must use protontricks command for install windows media player 11:
protontricks 45720 wmp11
And you need put this custom Xlive.dll in the game's exe dir for skip games for windows:
https://community.pcgamingwiki.com/files/file/576-bulletstorm-xlivedll/
After that, extract all 32 bit dlls for dxvk 1.9.2 (or latest version of DXVK) in this directory for enable DX9 and DX10:
SteamLibrary/steamapps/compatdata/45720/pfx/drive_c/windows/system32/
Tested with Proton Experimental; if you cant install wmp due to denied permissions, remove the entire 45720 compatdata folder and run protontricks command again.

In DX9 Version with all configs setted to maximum, flawless victory. But in the DX10 Version has some blurry/ dark textures. Adjust the brightness.
Some stuttering when loading rendered cinematics. Get a XLiveless DLL package on the net to override the GFWL. Extract the files and paste them to the Lost Planet installation folder. Ex.: /home/username/.steam/steam/steamapps/common/Lost Planet Colonies/. This is why the game don't load properly. Don't forget to install Windows Media Player 11 in the WINEPREFIX of the game using the winetricks or protontricks, too.

does not work with 5.0-8
Someone please fix GFWL games on Linux... Same error with xlive as everyone else.

DX9 Mode gives a black screen with "E_INALIDARG: XLiveInitialiez(&xii)" error box and then closes. DX10 Mode completely locks up on the black screen with no error box. Had for force quit application.

DirectX10 mode fails to start, DX9 mode opens a black screen with fatal error: E_INALIDARG: XLiveInitialiez(&xii) Seems like it fails to install GFWL
