There was no crashing near the start of the game, however, later on, and revisiting chapters, the game would crash in room transitions. Little-to-no progress was lost and rebooting was fast, but it did happen semi-frequently.
As with prior report, had to switch to proton to not have to deal with Flash stuff. I am unsure if the crash frequency is related to game progress, or if the later chapters just have higher chances- but I did crash when replaying some chapters as well.
Native version complains about installing Adobe Air to get flash to run, but force enabling Proton had it run fine with no actual tinkering or extra installation required.
Eventualy, it stops registering mosue clicks
The game will tun for a while, then it will stop registering mouse clicks. The only solution I found is force quitting the game and restarting. I tried all proton versions from 5 to 9 and experimental, It happens with all of them
Out of the box experience!
Shold just work. I finished it completely without any issues.
From the steam forums, I had to install adobe air for linux using these commands. I added a dependent package to the list.
sudo apt -f install libbz2-1.0:i386 libnss3:i386 libxaw7:i386 libnspr4:i386 libxmu6:i386 libxslt1.1:i386 wget -O adobe-air_amd64.deb http://drive.noobslab.com/data/apps/AdobeAir/adobeair_2.6.0.2_amd64.deb sudo dpkg -i adobe-air_amd64.deb
Install adobe air for native support using the commands given below. Original forum post is here https://steamcommunity.com/app/284390/discussions/0/2592234299561823496/ I am not sure if cloud saves work for this game as I lost my saves from last time playing it. Besides this runs like normal. You can also just set it to run with proton instead of native if you want to avoid installing adobe air.
sudo apt -f install libbz2-1.0:i386 libnss3:i386 libxaw7:i386 libnspr4:i386 libxmu6:i386 libxslt1.1:i386
wget -O adobe-air_amd64.deb http://drive.noobslab.com/data/apps/AdobeAir/adobeair_2.6.0.2_amd64.deb
sudo dpkg -i adobe-air_amd64.deb
Works perfectly on Deck. Just change the game resolution in the in-game options.
Finished game with minor inconveniences
- Clicking too fast with items selected sometimes made the UI freeze. Had to restart the game to get back control. (Luckily game auto saves every time you enter a room)
- Closing steam overlay more often than not crashes the game
Native version requires adobe air for linux, which has been unavailable for a long time
Doesn't go past main menu
NOTE: NATIVE LINUX VERSION DOESN'T LAUNCH AT ALL
Tried to launch both with latest Proton Experimental and Proton 6.3. In both cases the result was the same - I saw the initial intros, main menu and my cursor. The cursor was moving when I moved my mouse and changed shape when hovering over main menu choices.
However, it seems that my mouse clicks didn't register - I wasn't able to go into settings, start a game or exit game using the mouse. In the end, I had to close the game using Alt+F4.
The native Linux version did not work for me on Fedora. The Adobe AIR installer would just hang. Windows version ran out of the box. LOL!
Minor audio distortion
Works perfectly with Proton
The native version don't work but thanks to Proton I could finish the game without any issues.
The native version attempts to install Adobe Air and fails. I ran the Windows version through Proton and it worked flawlessly. Was able to complete the entire game from start to finish.
