Works out of the box without any problems.

This game is incompatible with most major versions of proton, and doesn't work out of the box. It may be more headache than it's worth.
-novid -fullscreen -w 1920 -h 1080
Game crashes upon changing screen mode.
All proton versions above 4.2-9 nuked my computer with a massive slowdown and blackscreen. 4.2-9 itself opened fine, but crashed upon loading the menu. 3.16-9 gave me luck and seems stable in offline mode.
-w 1920 -h 1080
Proton Experimental did not work for me; switching to Proton 4.2-9 worked but made the graphics corrupted, and switching to 4.2-9 along with using the launch parameters listed (my screen size) worked. Master servers are down and no Steam servers are currently available as of testing, but the singleplayer worked fine.
Just forced Proton Experimental by default and it ran like native
Crashes on startup and takes whole system with it
gamemoderun %command%
Tried proton-experimental, experimental with bleeding-edge beta, proton-ge and different storage devices (initialy on network share, then on local drive)
Creates a blackscreen then slows down the whole system to a halt. Way to annoying to debug.
Runs the same as Windows, with the same issues that occurs on the Windows version (multiplayer fixes etc)
Multiplayer only works when connecting to servers via Steam directly or marking some servers as favorites. Even Arcade mode worked for me.
Text in Menu seems to be out of order. Somehow a font problem.

Game does not find servers through the ingame browser. Bug exists on Windows as well. Find running servers through Steam under View > Servers and filter by 'The Ship' There are people still playing this wonderful game!

Multiplayer servers don't work on native Windows too, but you can still manually host a server and connect to it. I suggest adjusting resolution via launch options "-w 1920 -h 1080". Otherwise the game works perfectly.

Multiplayer doesn't work, it can't communicate with the server. The game crashes whenever you apply changes to the video settings, but they will be changed when you start the game again. The Ship Single Player and The Ship Tutorial work perfectly, other than crashing when applying video settings, the same as multiplayer.

arcade mode crashes with because of missing authentication module or hangs itself

it launched in a borderless window in one corner of the screen for several seconds, and then went properly fullscreen. I didn't need to manually turn on virtual desktop. I got an authentication error when trying to load arcade mode, and it made the game crash. When I tried to join a game, it was unable to communicate with the server and wouldn't populate the list. When I tried to host my game, nothing at all seemed to happen.

Fails to run (can be fixed by applying virtual desktop), when you load arcade mode it complains about missing auth module and crashes

Once had purple wall textures, simply restarted and it fixed.
