will need to use steam+trackpad mouse to elect the "Do not show again for today" or "X" button on pop ups before starting
Frequent stutter on any setting
Constant Disconnect due to performance "error NE:1000"

Disconnections happen to often to enjoy the game. You might get lucky and play for 30 minutes without issue though.
The game has some dips which I'm not sure if they are graphical or network issues (my character is randomly thrown forward with frame stutters happening), but this also happens on a windows machine
Frequent game disconnections (error NE:1000), probably due the game's anti cheats or server desync due performance dips.
The game still needs optimizations even on Windows (and apparently consoles); it's playable but you might run into issues that will ruin your experience.
Note: I can't edit my previous report so I'm doing a new one.

If using frame generation, the frame rate is unstable and the input lag is unplayable unless you enable manual GPU clock and leave it at 1600MHz.
The game is playable at 800p, low settings with medium AA. I found Intel XeSS set to ultra quality looked better than AMD FSR. Enabling frame generation caused awful frame drops and input lag. This is easily resolved within SteamOS by enabling manual GPU clock and leave it at 1600Mhz. This greatly improved the game stability and reduced input lag. You can sometimes get kicked out of the game if your frame rate is too unstable, this can be fixed by applying a FPS cap via SteamOS to 50 or 55FPS.

playsnic though i recommend to set everything on low and limit fps to 40fps and use fsr for performance
only received up to 40fps
i never experienced crashes or hitches on my OLED SD

Runs fine at 40-45 fps with the default low settings and FSR enabled in the game settings.
Typical resolution loss from FSR
Disconnects from servers when a frame hitch happens

runs at 40 fps
crashed anytime a hitch happens
needs work by devs for crashing

HDR looks really good on Steamdeck OLED. Not as good as playing on a desktop with a big screen esp when things get frantic but defintely playable. In menus I did turn on AMD FSR balanced but steamdeck does not detect FSR is enabled so not sure it did anything.

Performance is unstable (as stated when the game launches), and you might get kicked because of framerate dips.
No game crashes, but I get disconnected from the server after a signifiant frame freeze
Game's frames freeze and then I'm disconneted from the server
It appears I'm having a better experience with FSR disabled on the game's settings.

Game set graphics automatically. I turned on FSR3 - balanced (or quality, pick your poison) in games settings, and FSR on steam settings (the three dot menu). With those, I got more than 30 fps consistently, and it plays really smooth.

For launch the game switched to EasyAntiCheat. Luckely they took the time to check proton compatibility and the game works just fine with ProtonGE. Game runs pretty good on low settings. Used TSR upscaling on quality. got around 30 FPS in the busy areas and 40-45 in less crowded places.

This game runs quite well, but i believe they can make it better with some performance optimisations
Locked the fps at 45 and 40 in-game, then turned the tdp limit at 10W and gpu clock speed at 1100, turned the graphics on low , and turned fsr On with Balanced settings.

I'm surprised. This works out of the box with no tinkering needed. Performance is around 30ish fps on low settings.

On low settings the game runs at around 30 FPS constant.

Anticheat no longer prevents the game from Launching, so Online works as expected.
I'm working on a report for Steam Deck[OLED], but TFD is going to need a custom layout, becasue aiming with the controller is.. Challanging, and a good GYRO or Mouse Trackpad could aleviate that. So that's coming soon.
But yes as of the May 2024 Beta, TFD works online w/Linux hardware under Proton Experimental.

I was able to launch the game, log into my exisitng characters and play a mission with multiplayer. Ran around 30fp auto-low settings
Runs fine without tweaks

there was an annoying red dot in the center of the screen, barely noticeable. wasn't visible in the menu, so i guess is a sort of crosshair. maybe it's intended, but i didn't saw that playing on desktop (even on linux) so i guess it was a bug
Online seems to work just fine, the anticheat didn't block me (at least on Open Beta)
using proton hotfix i was able to play normally. On low settings + FSR balanced i got around 40 fps in exploration, dropping to 30-35 in more action intensive combat. Still good enough for the Steam Deck. The game has full gamepad support.

Still has the DLL error in this newest beta test

Receiving the "An Error has ocurred while loading imports, Wrong DLL present." with the Steam Deck as well.

I am not sure if you could use protontricks to add the missing DLL (I am new to Linux gaming). but at the moment the game cannot launch out of box.
