Native version works great on Mint and Fedora, but crashes when exiting the game
Sometimes I noticed some audio glitches (some sound effects stopped working during a match).
The game always crashes when exiting to the desktop, both on Fedora and Mint
I saw a lot of people suggesting the Windows-Proton version, but I didn't feel the need to switch
After roughly three games when I aim/look left to right I get really bad stutters
The occasional crash when I was using the native port but with the proton port no crashes so far
The issue with stuttering after 3 games was consistent across both versions of the game native/proton, Not sure if this is happening to anyone else but it would be interesting to see other peoples feedback
Have native port but i more recommended to use proton for better performance. Make sure have you installed BattlEye & EAC Runtime in Steam.
MANGOHUD=1 gamemoderun %command%
Native port have strange grey line bottom of the screen. Through proton is fine.
Proton version have better performance than native.
Just Need to install ---Battleye ---for linux or the game will keep kicking you out ot the map.
Works good enough so long as you force compatibility through steam with proton. Native Linux version recognizes 2 monitors as a single.
Native Linux version recognizes 2 monitors as a single one and provides no method to change it throught the settings. Proton compatibility layer is necessary for a good experience.
gamescope -f -e -H 2560 -h 1080 -r 1920 -S stretch -- %command%
The game did not have my 2560x1080 resolution listed and it would open stretched between multiple monitors with the monitor being set to auto and grayed out in the options. The launch options fixed my issue where it stretched 1920x1080 to my desired resolution.
Everything works, but only through the proton. If you play the native version, you will encounter a lot of graphical bugs, and Vulkan errors
Use proton for this game, do not try native version
The game runs fine with proton , but you have to install proton battleye runtime which you can do by going here steam://install/1161040 , the native vulkan version does artifacts and is broken so use proton
Its playable and runs very well.
There is some minor artifacts on the bottom of the screen.
Install Proton Battleye Runtime/Proton EasyAntiCheat Runtime through steam in order to play proton version. It was hard to find which is actually needed, but installing both seems to work.
Update on my previous rating. Switched my desktop back to Nix and realized that the specific proton version is not the fix. You need to install the anti-cheat through steam. If you search in your library you'll find Proton Battleye Runtime and Proton EasyAntiCheat Runtime available to install.
Proton 9.0-4 works with anti-cheat / Native build is borked with graphical glitches
Proton 9.0-4 works with the anti-cheat as of right now. The game runs like a champ even on an older GPU.
Runs great with small graphical glitches
Minor glitches at the bottom of the screen
Runs quite good
The game is very frenetic, rich in weapons and vehicles and the grind is not that absurd.
MANGOHUD=1 %command%
Occasional freezing of the image when looking at a high-action area, but lasts 1 to 2 seconds.
The native version works wonderfully well, but the Proton version could offer a bit more performance.
-> Multiplayer works in both versions.
-> There is no borderless in the Native version, but in fullscreen the game returns without problems with ALT+TAB.

The only caveat: I was only able to run the native version with Nvidia driver 550. If I use version 565, the game crashes after a few minutes, reporting an error in Vulkan. The Proton version works normally. This version of the Nvidia driver (565) also caused me problems in other native games.
Runs as well as the fourth reactor in Chernobyl, gives you great power and then suddently explodes. 0/10 experience
Stuttering, Crashing
kicked out by the anti-cheat
I've tried multiple versions of proton and the anti-cheat kept kicking me out; The native linux version of the game is extremely broken. I would wait until gaijin fixes the native version but i doubt they will.
Using Proton gets me kicked by anticheat a few seconds after joining a match.
EAC is finally enabled. Runs better with Proton than native.
Game runs a lot better through proton now, that the anticheat is finaly enabled. Native port is just not there. It shits itself constantly and is sub-par at best and unusable at worst.
Works pretty well
When scoping in using the sniper rifle at the start of a match, the game would sometime freeze and then crash.
Constantly crushing, complaining about vulkan
Even though there are some issues, none of them are significant enough to actually affect your gameplay.
The "auto" option will stretch across both screens and not just a singular monitor. If you have a dual monitor setup and you're facing this same issue, then you can go into settings and manually specify your resolution.
20-30 FPS with a RX 6600 -- native support seems relatively new, so this may be ironed out within time.
2 inch mortar my beloved <3
how could they shoot at us while we're in the back lines?
(In all seriousness, the game is fun. It's also great that it is running natively on Linux -- even if there are minor issues).
It's playable and there are no problems with EAC, but objectively it's a very bad port
Sometimes the tree textures are black
60 FPS lock, stutters for 10-15 seconds when loading on the map
mangohud ENABLE_VKBASALT=1 %command%
The game runs perfectly on the Steam Deck, played with low settings.
Gyro to mouse [beta]
gamemoderun mangohud obs-gamecapture %command%
Weird grey tv artifacts at the bottom of the screen
gamemoderun %command%
The Linux port "works", you'll have to try yourself how stable it actually is though. According to other reviews at the time of writing it runs perfectly
1) Native mouse doesn't work w/ 2 monitors 2) W/ proton, you're kicked by anti-cheat 3) Generally slowness compared to windows
The mouse is not grabbed by the program if you have a second monitor. The mouse will fly off of the screen onto the other monitor when you turn.
Mouse flying off the screen, the mouse is not grabbed by the grab, only in the menu for some reason. When you're actually playing your mouse will go off screen.
If you have two monitors, it is basically unplayable. With one monitor, it should be fine on the native version.
game ignores launch options, refuses to stay in a single screen, and refuses to change any options pertaining to window size.
-windowed -noborder -screen-width 2560 -screen-height 1440 -screen3
common black square artifacts
game would not accept any graphics change and would force the game to be in windowed fullscreen no matter what, even with launch options. game would also force itself to spread across all monitors no matter what i tried.
game has significant lag spikes often
horrid experiance
It was working but recently switched to BattleEye anti cheat. Don't waste your time.
Weird missing textures. Seems to be a comman Linux issue.
Don' tbother. I don't know why Gaijin switched from EAC to BattleEye as Warthunder uses EAC with minimal issues. BattleEye does not allow Linux systems.
While its not a great linux port, it at least exists rather than just blocking linux completely but there is some work needed on the port
gamescope -f -e -h 1080 -H 1920 -- %command%
not capturing the mouse on full screen soo to fix it i had to use gamescope, if you use 1080p you will just need to copy it to your launch options and for other resolutions you just need to change the horizontal and vertical values
Sometimes low frame rates but playable
Somewhat unstable but not unplayable levels and for now i had very few crashes
6/10 because the game works fine after that
Was not able go past EAC issues, spent 2 hours googling and tinkering.
Tried 4 different Proton versions (including GE). Steam recommended Proton was crashing after 20 seconds of gameplay. Other versions of Proton were working fine, but EAC was not working.
When playing native resolution the rightside of my monitor looked like i was going to a rave, flashing and diffrent colors
Game crrashed when playing native resolution online
Game dont run on ultrawide monitor
Anticheat kicks you
Worked in the past, but now the Anticheat kicks you almost immediately or the game crashes.
-windowed -noborder -screen-width 2560 -screen-height 1440 -screen2
Minor FPS drops out off nowhere whenever a new match begins
More or less works right out off the box... had to change my launch options for it to show on the correct screen but otherwise... fantastic!
Anticheat would kick me after ~30 seconds
Severe graphical issues that shouldn't be occuring.
Intro video plays fine, but anything beyond has severe graphical glitches. Everything is red tinted and flashes colors, then the game crashes with vulkan errors shortly after. Graphical issues are slightly less severe with lower graphics settings.
This isn't a hardware issue; other games run fine on this Linux install, and Enlisted ran fine when this system had Windows.
This game does not deserve a gold rating.
--force-grab-cursor %command%
I have not been able to get it running smoothely on linux at all. if it's not the cursor leaving the window (even with force-grab-cursor) then it simply won't launch. Proton doesn't work (anti cheat) the games framerate is not stable at all (when I was trying it on fedora). it would drop from 60 to 40 for no reason. on nobara it just won't launch at all.
the following is personal preference. the way that aiming works in the settings (Aim1, Aim2, and Zoom) is useless. When I press the aim button I expect to aim whether it be iron sites or scope.
when I get it to work right for iron sights then it won't enter scope and vice versa (this was also on fedora)
SteamDeck=0 %command%
When first launching the game make sure to run on the deck or docked to only 1 monitor. First startup will launch a window on all monitors if multiple are present
Always present controller prompts even when using KB/M
I play all multiplayer fps games on my deck docked with a KB/M, have 2 monitor setup for work and games as well (1440p horizontal and 1080p vertical - important). On first launch in desktop mode the game launched in a window stretched on both monitors but with the height of my secondary vertical monitor meaning the game was cut off on it's top and bottom quarters on my main monitor where the prompts to continue were, had to drag it around to find the prompt (i think it was "B" on the controller" to even get to the game main menu and set the resolution and window/fullscreen. Resolution options don't go beyond 1920:1200 (not thay you'll run it beyond 1080p) and the monitor selection gives you no options even with multiple connected so make sure you enable fullscreen on your chosen monitor after moving the window there.
The game also always displays controller prompts even with a KB/M connected like Insurgency Sandstorm and Warframe from what I've seen so I use "SteamDeck=0 %command%" for launch option and would recommend for anyone playing on KB/M
All in all the game is perfectly playable after fiddling with the graphic settings, the above issues are really just a problem with niche use cases for people on docked multiple monitor setups but alas wanted to put it out there just in case anyone bumps into it.
Mouse not staying in the fullscreen window makes game almost impossible to play
Originally opened spread across all three monitors, flipped it to fullscreen and adjusted res from auto to 1080p to fix.
Sometimes mouse kept escaping out of the window causing spinning and loss of focus on click
Didn't try any other alternatives other than native
