fixed trough pipewire settings as showed in the command line

pw-metadata -n settings 0 clock.min-quantum 512 && PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 %command%
I had to increase pipewire's minimumn quantum value to prevent audio crackling
I previously had very minor audio cracking in MK1, then after I switched to a new CPU, the problem got much worse. The fix was manually increasing the quantum value (buffer) for pipewire.
Unfortunately, pw-metadata
changes audio settings for the entire session, not just the application. I tried using application-specific ENV variables PIPEWIRE_QUANTUM="512/4800" %command%
, but that didn't work for some reason.

Stutters alot, but also stutters alot on Windows. Had no troubles playing.
Skip shader compiling at the beginning, freezes the game on both Windows and Linux at 60 percent.
Like it was nativ

Runs decent besides shaders needing to compile while playing(if you skip that)
When you go from cutscene to game during story mode, it takes a little bit before you can actually load into the fight.
Only issues are shaders compiling during fights if you skip the initial shader compiling, which can mess up gameplay, and loading into fights for the first time.

gamemoderun %command% -cpuLoadRebalancing -USEALLAVAILABLECORES
Inconsistent frame rate
It's okay despite the FPS being mostly inconsistent and choppy 60% of the time.

pw-metadata -n settings 0 clock.force-quantum 512 && pw-metadata -n settings 0 clock.force-rate 48000 && ENABLE_VKBASALT=1 gamemoderun %command% -cpuLoadRebalancing
I had to force rate and quantum with Pipewire.
It is possible to skip the shader preparation phase. But if you cannot, the game can get stuck never finishing that phase, and one must delete the precached files (USHADERPRECACHE) from the steam folder manually.
It looks something like this:
find ~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/1971870/ -type f -iname *shaderprecache* -delete
Most of the problems you may face are common with Windows users. Some of the biggest problems seem to be fixed after latest patch.
- Upscaling doesn't look good in this game. Avoid using it if you can.
- Haven't noticed much difference between DX11 and DX12.
- Have tried VkBasalt to try to make it look better. Not a big deal either way, though.

Works out of the box!
Worked out of the box for me.

Works great! Minor fps drops
Some frame drops sometimes
Game works pretty good out of the box. Framerate drop sometimes, but that's because the PC version of this game is bad optimized.

works pretty much ootb, besides needing launch command to make nvidia DLSS working. online desync issues are NOT related to Linux/Proton. These issues are on Windows, too and are a general game problem that needs to be fixed by the developers of MK1

Game runs perfectly, even remote play / share play works!
Multiplayer, towers, story, remote play, local it all works as intended. Im very happy that these new games run out of the box at this point of Linux! I was a little worried about Remote play not working (to play with a friend who has a lower spec PC and doesnt own the game) but it ended up running just perfect! he got a stable 60fps, no disconnects or lag, no input delay.

MANGOHUD=1 PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 gamemoderun %command% -cpuLoadRebalancing
Nvidia DLSS will not work OOB, but the game runs fine without it, since AMD FSR works OOB just fine.

Works out of the box

I was able to successfully play the game with proton experimental after I updated my ubuntu from 20.04 LTS to 22.04 LTS.
Game runs stable at around 50 fps. I ran the game's graphics autoconfig and it capped my fps at 50 and it decided to not use the AMD FSR etc. It stays above 45 fps average when I run the game's benchmark tool.

I was able to successfully launch the game with proton experimental (bleeding-edge) after I updated my ubuntu from 20.04 to 22.04. On 20.04 LTS version I wasn't able to run it. Hopefully that helps other ubuntu users
Runs well, I recommend enabling NVAPI in order to use NVIDIA DLSS and DLAA if you have the required hardware
MANGOHUD=1 PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 gamemoderun %command% -USEALLAVALIABLECOORES -cpuLoadRebalancing

Can't launch with nvidia/intel combo
I've tried different proton versions and launch options others have listed

PROTON_HIDE_NVIDIA_GPU=0 PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 MANGOHUD=1 gamemoderun %command% -USEALLAVALIABLECOORES -cpuLoadRebalancing
wouldnt start fullscreen regardless of setting
only on M&K
I had to refund because I was unable to fix an issue where Denuvo thinks im tampering with the game causing 24hr cooldown where im unable to play https://support.codefusion.technology/anti-tamper/?e=88500006&l=english&s=at

PROTON_HIDE_NVIDIA_GPU=0 PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 %command% -USEALLAVALIABLECOORES -cpuLoadRebalancing
Occasional stutter and framerate drops.
Specific for NVIDEA users, activate DLSS support by using the launch options provided, then choose DLSS in the graphics menu ingame. Noticed much better performance, from unplayably stuttery, to more or less butter smooth. Do still experience hiccups occasionaly, but putting that down to the game needing patches.

Works great, online (2 matches so far) also worked great. I had to disable my e-cores to resolve issue with choppy framerate.
some minor micro stuttering from CPU.
On 12-13 gen intel CPUs, there seems to be an issue with e-cores. I was getting minor FPS dips (average 58.5 fps)... just enough to make the game always feel very choppy and annoying. As described here [https://www.reddit.com/r/MortalKombat/comments/16jimhu/comment/k0rjrzq/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3], disabling my e-cores in my bios resolved it, and now I get a good stready 60 fps. This very much seems like a CPU optimization issue for the game, rather than a proton-issue.

Game installs, but doesn't launch
I installed it and first tried launching it, but at first nothing happened (I waited for around 5 minutes). Then I restarted steam and tried launching again, and this time the vulkan shader compilation popup appeared, ran for a while, finished, but the game still didn't start. I then switched to proton experimental (it was running with the default), proton 8.0-3, Proton GE8-14, none of which worked. I also tried with the flag MANGOHUD=1 gamemoderun %command%
as recommended by some here, but it was the same, I click for it to launch, steam thinks its running (the blue stop button appears) but nothing happens.

Works really well! Great game, too!
I previously reported it wouldn't start. I closed Steam, re-opened it, a couple updates came in, and it worked. Don't know why it didn't work right after install, though it could be because I pre-loaded it and tried to play it early and Steam didn't see it needed an update? At any rate, seems like a problem with Steam preloading the game rather than the game itself.

MANGOHUD=1 gamemoderun %command%
Can't perform Fatal Blow (both triggers at the same time) on controller (XBox Series type). Had to use keyboard to get after that part of tutorial.

Works fine but expect some long loading times
Sometimes freezes while in fullscreen
Game takes ages to start and expect long load times.

Installed and worked right of the box.
No tinkering needed, works flawlessly through campaign.
Game installs as normal but will not launch

I have an issue right now that I can't enable 4k 144Hz output from the game. For now game runs stable 2k 60Hz. Else is totally fine.
I had to kill a process of directx installation in wine. It was restarting over and over. After killing it game have finished an installation and runs smoothly even after restart.

some slowdown probably related to my hardware being not powerful enough
no tinkering, settings on medium (mostly because of my hardware not being powerful enough) but it keeps 60fps without notable perfomance issues. The proton version is the 8.0-3

Game installs but doesn't start (DX12 error)
RADV_PERFTEST=rt,gpl,ext_ms VKD3D_CONFIG=dxr11 %command%
I've tried with and without the above launch commands. I've also tried Proton Experimental, Proton Hotfix, and the default one. I get a small popup stating:
"DX12 is not supported on your system which is required to run this game"
I am able to play other DX12 games without issue like Mortal Kombat 11, Control, and Cyberpunk 2077.

Game installs, does not launch (DX12 error)
RADV_PERFTEST=rt,gpl,ext_ms VKD3D_CONFIG=dxr11 %command%
I've tried Proton-GE-8.14, Proton Experimental, and Proton Hotfix. I've tried with, and without the following launch options. Keep in mind, I have no trouble running other DX12 games.

Seems to work out of the box!
I bought the premium version just to test if it would work on Linux. I was able to start the story mode, and play a match against someone online. Everything seems to be in order!
