It works fine.

works out of the box
again, opensuse wins! no tinkering, no huss and fuss, just plug n play, install n play

Shaders are not correctly drawn on the models. This has no impact on gameplay itself but breaks the immersion.
Without VSYNC enabled the player gets frequently stuck and only jumping solves this temporarly.
Shader issues are pretty annoying and I did not find a way to get around them. When using Proton 7 or newer the game hangs at start screen. With an older version the game runs stable having everything on max settings.
There are some shading problems in the game, most noticeable on chicken characters. However, it doesn't degrade the gameplay.
This game doesn't support Steam Cloud. Game saves are erased when you delete the game or even change the Proton version.
Great fun, a few artefacts and an issue with new controllers, but otherwise highly recommended.
A newish Xbox One style joypad doesn't map correctly, and the camera (left stick presumably) spins constantly
If the game freezes at the loading spash screen then switch to an older version of Proton. I switched to 5.0-10 to fix this exact problem and it works now just fine.
Lauched the game but I get stuck at the splash screen
Sadly unplayable as it gets stuck
Save data is deleted when the game is uninstalled
runs like platinum
. just switch to FXAA anti aliasing and V-sync for best experiance. other anti aliasing options used more resources and got my pc warmer than it should have for a game this old
I had to use older proton (5.0-10) - like with many other games on my hardware. Besides that, perfect experience out of the box!
Game runs great. No tinkering. No issues.
did not notice any issues with the game that aren't present on windows. no launch options needed.
Overall, it is very playable and very enjoyable, barring some visual artifacts.
After the first 15 or so minutes of gameplay, it would seems that there was some rather insane ghosting happening. The screen would hold a ghosted image from about the last 5 seconds of play while still being perfectly playable, but visually unappealing.

The game runs perfectly, bar exactly three problems. The first is that the game will crash upon loading an actual level if you use the anti-aliasing setting: SSAA 16x. You can resolve this by setting "PROTON_FORCE_LARGE_ADDRESS_AWARE=1 %command%" as the launch option. The second is that SSAA 16x causes huge dips in the framerate. Both of these problems can also be solved with the exact same solution: just don't use SSAA 16x. TBH, anti-aliasing in this game is quite unnoticeable. It really doesn't add much at all to it, so I just turn it off all together. The third problem is that all of the text in the Steam Overlay will be replaced with rectangles, including the fps counter in the upper left. It randomly fixes and breaks itself over and over. I have never seen a game do this and haven't found a permanent solution yet. A temporary solution is to save then load that save. Aside from that, it runs great. Nearly platinum.

Everything installed and ran fine with shadows enabled.

Got to the setting windows and after press play just black screeb

Unable to move unless you jump or attack. Every time you stop running you will have to jump or attack to move again. Performance however, is excellent.

Works perfectly even with shadows on. Steam overlay and Steam Controller working just fine.

Retested. With Shadows off, works flawlessly. With Shadows on, flickers during in-game cutscenes and after the second cutscene all the textures turns black.

Starts just fine, but flickers on the cutscenes, and suddenly everything in the game turns black (except for the menu).

1st attempt to start failed. 2nd attempt to start got to the title screen, but them locked up requiring switching to terminal to kill stranger.exe in order to recover graphical session.

Default controller settings unusable, needed to manually edit settings to fix
