It works fine on Kubuntu 24.04
When I tried this game on Fedora 40 it didn't run, but I switched to Kubuntu 24.04 and it works without issues. I played the game from start to finish.

I get an error message, it refuses to start. I tried many Proton versions, from 5.13-6 to 9.0-2
Proton-GE doesn't work either. It doesn't even show the error message.
40hz/40fps mode
Menu's need to be accessed via trackpad and right trigger
40hz/40fps limit. 5 watt tdp. Gets solid 40.
There is a pop up screen before the game starts. Something about out of date. Just click on "yes to all" with the touch screen. Game will start. Then it will be fine after that.
Small text is a bit blurry. But legible.
Volume is very low for this game. That's the way it just is by default.
No cloud save support. Only local game save.
Game works fine. There is a small optional tweak to make to the game file for higher Anisotropic filtering(default 4,can make it 16)=Dtop mode, open Steam, get in BIA local files. In "Engine" folder, config, then in BaseEngine.ini scroll almost all the way down to category{systemsettings}you'll see MaxAnisotropy=4. Change to 16. Then save it. Close it all out. Play with new setting.
Has to be installed on the same drive as Steam, otherwise gives disk errors on startup.
Since it's a game from 2008 you have to tinker with the files to get a proper resolution going
No issues found when using proton, you have to tinker with the files just as much as on windows

6.16-GE-1 GloriousEggroll
Might want to adjust some key bindings/display settings, other than that no problems so far.

Perfect clean install, excellent performance. Flawless

Game runs without any issues out-of-the-box. Performance could be a little bit better, the fps is somewhere between 30 and 120fps at all time, it likes to jump around a lot. I am playing at 1440p ultra wide so that likely has an impact. Controller works just fine as well.

No issues found, no graphical glitches, controller works
