Same error in 2025, opens than crashes with this message. There seems to be no known workaround, ended up requesting a refund.
Works perfectly fine. By default the right touchpad autoclicks like turbo/autofire, which can make it hard to control buying items, but that can be toggled by pressing the right touchpad. Once autofire is toggled off, you can click normally with the R2 button.
Works fine out of the box, though the achievements system seems to be somewhat broken - there are multiple copies of the same achievement, so you finish a certain level and is rewarded with 5+ instances of the same cheevo.
Though the game is listed as gold and compatible, in my experience (everything standard, no changes on Proton, no nothing, just download & play) the controllers doesn't work. No action on any of the face buttons, analog or digital. I also tried downloading some custom made controller setting and still it does not work, other than some action on the L4/R4/L5/R5 buttons to spin around.
Works fine, but once you got many enemies on screen (300+) performance gets degraded to some 15~20fps, but it is still playable.
Tried switching to a custom profile and it also doesn't work. Only way to make it navigate the menus is by switching to a mouse and keyboard control configuration, but then it is not really playable as it should. Which is weird because everyone else says here that it worked out of the box for them. Pretty vanilla Steam Deck, running on Steam mode, no changes to Proton configuration or anything else whatsoever, just playing it "as a console" - or trying to - and failing in that experience :(
You need to first open the provided game configuration tool and choose "Windowed/FullScreen" mode. After that, switch gamepad bindings to community - then it will work.
Both the native Steam Deck controls as well as a bluetooth controller (tried on a DualShock 4 and a 8Bitdo Ultimate C2) are not recognized. You can use the mouse mode to navigate within the menu but the controls themselves are not recognized, even when opening the supplied Configure controls tool or choosing a different control profile such as the recommended by the community within Steam.
Installed custom launcher as described.
You need to change the launcher as described, and then launch the game configuration tool and change the input settings to use the controller. Note that changing the launcher does not affect the achievements, you can still get those normally.
Works fine out of the box, but first you need to open the supplied game configuration tool to choose resolution (1280x800 full screen) and gamepad controllers (with vibration). After that is set, the game plays fine on Steam Deck with its native controls.
