Works out of the box
I'm using an 8BitDo Pro 2 Controller, and didn't have any issues; whatever was happening before seems to have been fixed.

I tried to play this on XFCE(x11)/i3wm and it was great. When I tried to switch to Sway(Wayland) it freezes but you can reload sway to resume
It freezes OFTEN on wayland. X11 is completely fine.
The same as Win11
Although I have only tried sway for wayland, I wouldn't try it.
around 60-70fps in any resolution on any settings
freezing and constant stuttering
Game works perfectly out of the box.
The latest Proton-GE (and reportedly experimental) fixes the issues with the updated controls that came along in V10
Will need to modify keybinds or plug a mouse in to properly use the builtin level editor on the Deck as it doesnt support controller inputs in editor at time of review
Without the use of Proton Experimental, game freezes upon use of analog sticks, making it unplayable. With Experimental, the problem disappears.
Works fine if you're happy with mapping to keyboard controls. SD controller not supported for now.
Remapped a bunch of stuff to use keyboard rather than gamepad which is not working in V10 on Steam Deck.
Controller input makes the game freeze constantly
Controller input makes the game freeze constantly
Playing with a keyboard works fine
Now that V0.10 is out, any analog input on any controller causes the game to lock up
Controller analog input caused game to lock up
Played in V0.9
Game worked flawlessly in V0.9

Contacted devs on Discord: v10 (in beta) uses a new controller driver which is incompatible with proton. Once v10 is released the game will not be playable on Deck

v9 works, v10 beta uses a new controller driver which is incompatible with Proton.
Once version 10 (in public beta) is released the game will be unplayable under Proton. v9 works, v10 beta uses a new controller driver which is incompatible with Proton. The developers on Discord said they do not support Proton or the Steam Deck.
Updating previous report as they've resolved an issue with a borked Linux default install. Works as normal now
Requires you to manually specify to use Windows compatibility tools or it will download wrong version
Be sure to specify a compatibility tool in the game's properties otherwise it'll download a Linux version which contains no game files. Works great otherwise
I believe this happens when there are a lot of in-game objects
I didn't test this very well, but so far so good
Game runs better than how it does on Windows with the same hardware. good experience
Some controller issues that are mostly Steam related

Works perfectly OOtB. Small issues if youre the host for extended periods of time
After a long playtime as a host of a lobby, sometimes (usually happened after I was on the steam workshop in the overlay) the game starts to stutter a LOT until you close it.
I was the host for multiple hours once and then suddenly everyone disconnected and anytime they rejoined it gave them an "error".
Works OOTB
Multiplayer worked out of the box with no issues
Native or near-native performance with no apparent wine bugs, no tinkering required

Set Graphics to 3 and using FSR to run it at 960x540
System strain significantly increases depending on your hardware

I changed the graphics settings from "5" to "3" for the best performance, least stuttering during shader caching and for battery. Also able to change to lower resolutions with Proton FSR for better battery
