I need to launch the Steam client with ENABLE_PRIMUS_LAYER=1, both GPU's are detected by PrimusVK, Steam client will only run on the integrated GPU.
I need to run a dummy process on the discrete GPU beforehand so that the discrete GPU kernel module is loaded (i.e. 'optirun /bin/bash') and stays loaded.

I've added the wargaming game center as a non-steam application into my library.
I've been playing the game this way for 2 years and now started producing performance issues (I could play wot without issues in january).
Since update 1.24. the game is producing fps drops and stuttering and the WINE_CPU_TOPOLOGY launch argument doesn't solve my problem either.
I also updated my wine version to 9.0
Out of the box experience
Everything just works, the game utilized from all my CPU cores and GPU aswell. No tinkering at all. Perfect experience.

as a launch parameter to limit the game to physical cores only. That seemed to get rid of the stutter. Afterwards, performance was great at 4k Max settings.
You need to check your CPU topology using a tool like lstopo
. Then use the first CPU thread on each core. For my Ryzen 3900x, it seems like the first threads on each core are labeled 0-11, which is why I used those for WINE_CPU_TOPOLOGY

I have tried installing through steam, and through the regular client. Results are identical. After the game starts and monitor detection begins where it adjusts the resolution automatically, the game refuses to keep focus. Every click with the mouse happens to whatever is behind the window, the desktop, the launcher, a browser, doesn't matter. I have tried numorous things to fix this. Also, there is an audio issue where it crackles a bit.
I can play it.
When I was using the flatpak version of the steam client, the game file path was long and I was getting the error “Application has failed to start because the path to the executable is too long.” I uninstalled the flatpak version of the steam client and installed the deb version and was able to start the game with no problems.
You need to turn off Menu -> Settings -> Graphics -> Browser hardware accelerationfor the store to load, but apparently this is not the fault of Wine, Proton Steam or Linux.
Stuttering in garage
Need workaround (from WoT discord) for multiple cores CPUs - restrict used number of cores to only physical ones: set env var WINE_CPU_TOPOLOGY=8:0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7 (for 16 cores), 6:0,1,2,3,4,5 (for 12) etc.

Game does not start anymore
Since an update last week with this spaceship nonsense, the game can no longer be played. At first it was constantly jerking, then after an update nothing worked at all. The game keeps crashing during loading. I have tried to start the game with older Proton versions without success.

After the the final frontier update FPS dropped to an unplayable level.

Technically, this is the same game, so both the "World of Tanks" WG and the "Mir Tankov" Lesta, separated due to sanctions, work equally well on Linux. Previously, instead of "StartWine", I used "PortProton" to launch, it works just as well. Playing through the "Heroic Games Launcher" I found a decrease in FPS

Turn off browser hardware acceleration in order to access the shop.
No needed to tinker at all, install and play. I just put the feral gaming mode into the launch params because I'm used to it. Only thing that needs to be turned off as others mentioned too (and is not proton or steam or linux's fault at all) is the browser hardware acceleration within the game's graphics settings because otherwise the store won't open up, just the wargaming logo spinning. Works pretty fine
When launching game, title can freeze for a while. But no other problems seemed

Crashes when opening steam overlay
I made the mistake of adjusting in-game audio settings from '2.0/2.1' speaker profile to 'Headphones', I observed crackling sound part-way through the loading process prior to aborting. Thus I was unable to launch the game until I re-launched in the game's 'safe-mode' (right-click orange 'Play' button) and reverted the audio to '2.0/2.1' speaker profile.
Occasionally I see blank or missing content within the 'garage' view of the game but I can't be certain that it is in any way related to Proton.
I am yet unable to run Steam and Steam-games (in general) with 'Optimus' using the discrete GPU (per https://help.steampowered.com/en/faqs/view/145A-FE54-F37B-278A) although these are early days.

Since the recent overhaul of Steam I'm getting a crash on startup (winevulkan.dll related) with all Proton versions (experimental, current, past), the only way the game still runs for me is to go to game properties and disable Steam overlay.
Over 140 hours of flawless gameplay! The game works perfectly, with the graphics at maximum and without any performance issue.
Disable "Browser Hardware Acceleration" on Settings > Graphics > Screen to avoid any issues with the store or other pages not rendering (opening empty).

Everything works awesome, store won't load if you don't disable hardware acceleration browser on settings, but that's the only issue and is solved with one click.
