GE8 does not detect controller (both for steam deck and Bazzite)
Newest GE (9-22) does not work (can't see main menu). Old GE (8-22) does not detect controller. Runs perfectly with 9-5.

ge 8version cant use controller

Must use GE-Proton 8.25 version, and you don't need to add any launch option. If you encounter other problems, refer to others to add launch options.

Without the right Proton version the game won't even procced to the logo screen. No start option needed aside from that it runs great on the Deck OLED. Not running with the newest Proton GE versions, older like 9-5 worked fine

The game runs well on the OLED deck but take care finding the Proton version that works for you (details below).
The antialiasing seems to make some text look funny.
Some of the more recent reports said they could get the game working on various GE-Proton8 versions. I could get to the title screen with these but the Steam Deck controls were unresponsive - could only use the touch screen. I've only been able to get the game working with GE-Proton9-5 (the latest version at this time is 9-10 and didn't work for me).
Also beware, trying too many Proton versions will lock you out of launching the game for maybe 24 hours. I tried maybe 5 Proton versions and got locked out - needed to try again the next day to find the version which worked for me.

You have to disable anti-aliasing
You have to change to the newest Proton GE version (I used GE 8-32). The game will not launch without Proton GE. After that the game runs completely fine with 60fps

Use ProtonUpQt and get Proton GE set up with 8.28 and the game will run fine. Personally, to combat some of the intense aliasing from the game's awful engine, I disabled anti-aliasing in settings (intuitive), and forced the resolution to 1080p. It's still not good, and you now don't get 60 FPS all the time, but it's better than 720p
DO NOT USE Proton GE 8.27. I experienced severe battery drain and the Steam Deck misreporting its battery level, leading to unexpected shutdowns at 40-50% alleged battery level!

Use ProtonUpQt and get Proton GE set up with the latest version and the game will run fun. It does seem to absolutely suck back battery though

Limit TDP to 12

Set graphics preset to medium, disabled antialiasing and blur. Set TDP limit to 12 in Steam Deck performance tab. Using Powertools set CPU frequency maximum to 2300 MHz.
60 FPS with 13-15 watts of power drain from battery
Anti-aliasing makes game look worse

slightly small for the screen

Blur/Anti-aliasing does not work as intended
You no longer need to use launch options to have audio on videos. Game runs just fine at 60 fps, if you want to save battery you can play at 45 fps. 10/10 would recommend

Without the GE Launch Option, there will be no audio in major cutscenes (the ones with full motion animation and cameras). This has been fixed using the launch option to disable the audio plugin.
The game dips but is an issue with the game itself, and not the steam deck. Turn off Anti-Ailising though, it makes the game look WAY worse with it on.

Sometimes, both pre-rendered cutscenes and gameplay will glitch out and flicker. This is easily fixed. Set in-game FPS to 60 and turn Vsync off. If you are getting the flickering issue, press the three dots button and turn the Steam Deck's frame rate limit to "off". If this doesn't fix the glitching, put the limiter back to 60 FPS. Keeping the frame rate unlocked seems to be the best fix, though.
Thank you to Steam and ProtonDB user Swish. Your efforts are appreciated and you are the person who provided the launch options command to get the game to work. Thank you!

Set TDP limit to 8. Mostly consistent 60FPS in Jails. Will drop to the 40s in cities, but it doesn't really matter there. Just under 3 hours on average.
Audio won't play in cutscenes without the launch option.

The only issue I've found throughout the whole game is when the cutscenes end, the video goes into black before transitioning into the game.

Swish, may luck be on your side!

Flawlessly runs and 60fps with Swish's fix. Thanks!!!

Thanks to proton db user Swish this is finally fully playable. You are amazing Swish!!!!

After reading other reports about this game, I genuinely refused to try it with base proton on my Steam Deck. After performing the described fixes, the game ran flawlessly. The issue where audio doesn't properly play during cutscenes has been entire absent so far (about 2 hours into playing, several fully animated and in-engine cutscenes have played)

Missing voices/sounds in cutscenes
Perfectly playable, so long as Proton-GE along is used. Requires disabling the gstreamer protonaudioconverterbin plugin to get full audio in cutscenes.

During major cinematics (such as starting or ending a palace, these cinematics do not use bust-ups and just have subtitles on the bottom, usually fully motion captured animation.) there is no sound except for whatever background music should be playing. Minor cinematics do not have any audio issues (these are Cinematics where they use bust-ups and dialogue boxes)
It runs, it still looks very bad but that's just how strikers looks. Definitely an improvement over the switch release.

Runs Perfectly on GE-Proton-8.3 I have had no issues with missing sound or effect sounds. Using GE-Proton-8.3, no issues thus far
Use Glorious EggRoll - Game Runs perfectly with 8.3
FSR enabled, Overall graphics set to Mid, changed TDP to 8W
Sound Effects and Voices are missing during Cutscenes (BGM works)
Highly recommended with a bit of tinkering.
When playing on Steam Deck, as playing directly, without Proton GE for example, it will launch, but after the first loading screen, it shows only a black screen.
Currently, using GE-Proton8-3 and it works very good. The only thing that doesn't work are the sounds and voices during the cutscenes. Because of that, I am watching the cutscenes on YouTube, but it doesn't bother me much.

No Voices and sound effects during cutscenes (Proton GE 8-3)
In game V Sync and SteamOS framecap do not play nicely together.
With proton GE Proton8-3 the steam version of the game still runs without proper cutscenes - no voices and sound effects - only the sound track seems to be playing. V Sync sometimes needs to be turned "off" and "on" to fix random stutters. SteamOS framecap needs to be set to "off".
Game black screens or forces the deck to restart after the initial loading screen. Might need to manually update the dxvk version of the GE proton to fix it.
Prerendered cutscenes missing voice and SFX.
Severe judder when steam deck fps cap and in-game fps cap are both at 60fps. Turn off steam deck fps cap for smooth gameplay.
I have change the TDP to 8w and the GPU clock rate to 1000 and it runs perfectly smooth
Text are little bit small in Chinese, I haven't tested in English
Cutscenes just have music only, there are no other sound such as environment sfx or voice actor speaking
Missing audio in cutscenes, only music is playing
Runs only on Proton GE. On Proton Experimental doesn't boot

Cinematics don´t play audio
The first time you have to explore, the moment you receive a message the game freezes
The instability on the final cutscenes ruins the experience. If you can find the cutscenes on YouTube, that helps, but I can't recommend it.
Any of the animated cutscenes are entirely missing audio except for the music. With subtitles, this isn't a dealbreaker, but certainly a problem.
Last two cutscenes of the game froze the system, the first of the two eventually loaded after several minutes, however the game's final cutscene and credits never loaded at all, eventually crashing to SteamOS. Definitely frustrating.
Game runs pretty well other than the cutscene issues, so if that isn't a dealbreaker for you and you have the ability to watch the cutscenes externally, it might still be a good experience. Additionally, be aware that, if final cutscene crashes, you will be unable to access post game content. Luckily I was content with beating the game.
With GE-Proton7-10 (and maybe newer versions) it works perfectly fine - perfectly playable.
Steams included Proton didnt work at all, and GE-Proton7-27 didnt let the Game start in Game mode, but did work in desktop mode just fine, so use anything lower, i can confirm -10 works perfectly fine.
Freezing consistantly and for a long period of time for doing common actions in the game.
Enabled FSR
The game contains framerate issues. Usually never reaches 60 FPS and hangs around 55 to 58 FPS.
The game freezes for a good two to three minutes whenever you bring up your phone. Additionally, the game also freezes for a good while when following to prompt to "Ambush" an enemy as well as performing an All-Out Attack. Consistent and replicable.
I haven't played enough to get to the next cutscene, (started on Windows), so I cannot say whether the cutscenes work or not. Otherwise, the game CAN be played but is largely unenjoyable due to freezing for good minutes in combat from doing certain actions and whenever the protagonist's phone is brought up.
Limited frame rate to 40fps
Dialogue audio missing and unsynced music during animated cutscenes.
V-sync needs to be turned off in the game's settings. The game can be run at max settings with steady frames. Needs Proton-GE
