Fix the blackscreen by switching from Windowed to Fullscreen in Desktop Mode and play in Game Mode Fullscreen should work fine.
Capped framerate to 30 FPS
First startup launches the game in Windowed which causes a blackscreen on Game Mode. Switch to Desktop Mode and play through the game enough to access the settings menu to switch to Fullscreen. Otherwards, the game works normally in Game Mode in Fullscreen.
If playing on Desktop Mode, pressing the Steam button or the Menu button causes the Steam Deck built in controller to no longer work for that session. Buttons works fine in Game Mode.
Freezing consistantly and for a long period of time for doing common actions in the game.
Enabled FSR
The game contains framerate issues. Usually never reaches 60 FPS and hangs around 55 to 58 FPS.
The game freezes for a good two to three minutes whenever you bring up your phone. Additionally, the game also freezes for a good while when following to prompt to "Ambush" an enemy as well as performing an All-Out Attack. Consistent and replicable.
I haven't played enough to get to the next cutscene, (started on Windows), so I cannot say whether the cutscenes work or not. Otherwise, the game CAN be played but is largely unenjoyable due to freezing for good minutes in combat from doing certain actions and whenever the protagonist's phone is brought up.
As long as you do not change the display mode to Windowed or Windowed Borderless, the game will be able to run smoothly on Fullscreen 720p.
Capped framerate to 40 FPS
Changing from Fullscreen to Windowed or Borderless Windowed would freeze the game indefinitely.
Additionally, changing the resolution to something that fits the Steam Deck's aspect ratio would cause the game to freeze. Lastly, sometimes the game would also get stuck on the initial loading screen indefinitely randomly.
The game runs pretty much perfectly if you do not change the resolution settings or the display mode settings. The game seems to freeze if you're trying to change to anything besides Fullscreen 1280x720. Capping the framerate to 40 FPS and changing the overall graphical settings to Medium netted nearly 4 hours of battery life on a full charge. If the game freezes on start up, changing the resolution in the properties settings on Steam to Default seems to fix it by resetting the resolution back to Fullscreen 1280x720.
