PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%
Maybe you need to do the first update on a windows VM or windows OS, after it works

Don't Work, Stuck on launcher
PROTON_NO_D3D11=1 %command%
The game don't install, by fail in extract files on launcher

The logo shows up instead of the actual loading screen that is supposed to show up.

PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 DRI_PRIME=1 %command%
I have tried all the methods in this thread so far.
-I have verified the integrity of the game files and updated my windows machine. -I coppied the local windows game files onto a flash drive and then copied the flash drive files onto a local folder in the Steam Deck (via desktop mode). -I also located the game files in the steam deck and deleted them out of the steam deck folder and pasted my files that were transfered from the windows machine. -I am running the launch options: PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 DRI_PRIME=1 %command% -I have tried various experimental compatablity options i.e. 8-0-2 (I cant find 8-0-1), Proton Experimental, Proton Hotfix etc. Still no avail.
The best I get is the developer logo, it freezes and does not change to the game menu.
SMC does not work in both desktop or steam deck mode. Please help??? Playing this on the go would be super fun.
PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 DRI_PRIME=1 %command%
Its realy work if you copy the game file from windows and replace your linux game file. Don't backup, you must be copy and paste only. Before you copy, make sure your game in last updated on steam windows.
After copy to linux game file, you must be verify your game and launch after finish. Yeahhh welcome back to the game, pilot !
PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 DRI_PRIME=1 %command%
On Either a Second Windows Machine or VM:
- Install Super Mecha Champions, and make sure it is up to date.
- Go to the game settings, click on Local Files, and click on Browse.
- From there, you can either copy everything onto a flash drive, or move them to a folder on your host machine for easy access.
On Your Linux Machine
- Go to your game settings, and navigate to the General tab
- Input the following command into the Launch Options bar: PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 DRI_PRIME=1 %command%
- Navigate to the Local Files tab and click on Browse.
- The game folder should pop up. Delete everything in that folder (yes everything).
- Grab the files you copied from your Windows machine or VM and paste them in that same folder.
- Go back to your Local Files tab in your game settings, and click on "Verify integrity of game files"
- Launch the game. This should work with any version of Linux.

Doesn't work on Steam Deck. Did what DragonRider69 at top says like replacing packages & setting launch options, but game doesn't start.
PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 DRI_PRIME=1 %command%
- Both desktop mode or gaming mode of Steam deck fails to start.
PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 DRI_PRIME=1 %command%
To update the game you need to remplace the "package" folder on SMC folder by this one: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1OvOsH6gYg0D5KcdeFs9Y8oDT3l5GMX6r?usp=share_link this is my game updated on windows just start the game with the launch option adapted to your system
for install just take the full game: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1MwF6y_0EPckwAfprbqGhnPQC3eW_ut5v?usp=share_link
WITH THIS METHOD YOU WILL TAKE MY GAME SETTINGS so don't forget to change them
but if u want to keep youyr settings, on the package folder, don't remplace
- user-settings.xml
- Documents/cacert.pem
- Documents/setting
the lobby board doesn't work
The game run as fine as linux except for like 2~3 bugs and the input latency is reduced

The game cannot start because proton not decompressing nkp files. The log of game say OS error.
MESA_GL_VERSION_OVERRIDE=2.1 PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 DRI_PRIME=1 %command%
If proton could decompressing the game, I can play the game.
PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 DRI_PRIME=1 %command%
fullscreen make the game crash
you will need a strong PC to stream at the same time, I can with my specs stream in 720p60 without any lag but more the game have trouble
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Downgrade your nvidia drivers to the version 515, the newers make the game crash
- launch the game with Proton7.0-5
- (optional) to force the game on your graphic card add the launching option: PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 DRI_PRIME=1 %command%
you need to downgrade manually nvidia drivers, and the game is a bit stuttery
some frame spiks and fps drops, even more when streaming
the message board in lobby doesn't work + the payment system is not working
same as windows issues
downgrade your nvidia drivers it work fine
crash at 88% while compiling files
PROTON_NO_D3D11=1 %command%
"~/SteamLibrary/steamapps/common/Super Mecha Champions/package/user-settings.xml". "" set "True" to "False".
The client start... conection to server ok... get stuck at 88% of compiling files.... then crash...

Everything went ok. Totally playable if you have a good ping.
Usual SMC server issues and lags, but nothing Linux-related
Loot items are not rendered on the ground
Does not allow to switch from full screen to windowed mode
El loot no se renderiza en el suelo
No permite cambiar de pantalla completa a modo ventana
Works excellent
Stuck on loading screen. Sometimes have an error "connection with server failed"

"~/SteamLibrary/steamapps/common/Super Mecha Champions/package/user-settings.xml". "<render UseD3D11="True"/>" set "True" to "False".
randomly resets to windowed mode and crashes.
when it switches to window mode the mouse gets stuck outside the window
the random windowed mode switch sometimes causes crash
the game is buggy as hell. bad clipping is probably the worst of it at this point.
Creo que es el único batalla royale que funciona en proton

Stuck in updating screen
Tried Proton 5.10, 6.3, GE, Experimental, all have the same issue. Tried with PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command% And PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 konsole -e %command%

PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%
I think this is one of the only battle royals for linux.

Ran with launch option PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 konsole -e %command% This allows the game to run, otherwise it does not launch, using Proton version 5.0-10
Game freezes constantly for <1 second, making it hard to play the game The FPS is still >60, but having game randomly freeze is quite challenging.
Game randomly crashes, usually during loading but sometimes mid-game as well. You can reconnect but if it happens during a fight you're likely dead
Unable to make in-game purchases via Steam,. Contacting Steam Support did not help in this regard but they said it seemed to be a Steam Overlay issue. The Steam Overlay works properly when opened via the shortcut, it is only that I am unable to make in-game purchases (the items either do not show up, or a button shows up with ****** as the price, depending on what I'm trying to purchase). This might be a good thing since I end up spending less money.
"PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 konsole -e %command%" couldn't run. Apparently, you need to install konsole on Arch first and it got it to run.
passed the launch options "PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 konsole -e %command%" on proton 5.0-10 (as experimental did not work for me)

Use these launch options: PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 konsole -e %command%

Does not need wineD3D launch option anymore to open the game. Played 2 deathmatch game and didn't experience any problem yet.

Launch commands
PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 konsole -e %command%
You'll need to adjust this for your particular console, but 3 things are vital and it runs perfectly.
- make sure you're using proton 5.0-10
- pass the PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 option 3.have the game run from a terminal.
You can just run steam from a terminal as well, but obviously that's not ideal, so simply passing your terminals launch command followed by whatever it's execution command is after the D3D parameter will accomplish the same thing, and there's absolutely nothing I can find wrong with the game that wasn't already wrong in Windows.
`sudo ln -s /home/$USER/.steam/ /home/$USER.steam` and then use Proton version 5.0-10.`PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%` and game works fine
Since you have to use WineD3D instead of DXVK to play the game, the game does run at lower FPS than expected as a result of that

Was able to launch the game, however couldn't get past the tutorial.
I believe with more launch options, it could run fairly well.

Can't play
Tried proton 6.5 GE 2 and 6.3.2 and added some launch options, game does not open.

Game does not open
I click on play the game it looks like it will open and nothing happens, I tested it with steam proton 6.3-2 and proton 6.5-GE-2 and in both the game does not run.
Doesn't start

Completely unresponsive
Doesn't matter what version I'm using of proton, it will either quit outright on launching, or sit there and never do anything.
