I updated my Nvidia driver using a PPA, which reportedly fixes issues with "32-bit libraries" that even prevented Steam from opening. The game would fail to launch with the Nouveau driver.

Playable with OpenRCT2 (Haven't tried normally)
Following the instructions on the OpenRCT2 page is painless. I tried on Ubuntu using the nightly PPA and the AppImage. You basically just enter the install path and run OpenRCT2 outside of Steam.
