Proton Experimental (version: 2024-04-22) fixes the performance issues present on previous Proton versions.
Missing flames from explosions and molotov
From 60 to 37/39 fps when there are flames or explosion wih visual effects I think
with Proton 4.11-13
Partner body disappeared in survival mode for no reason
Game run stable at 25/30 fps but could reach 60 with a previous version of proton. Fire effects and explosion are incisive to the fps. Proton 4.11-13 is the only one I can have enabled to reach 60 fps, but the missing flames from flamethrower and enemies molotov are invisible, and the game is unplayable like this. To resume, Proton 4.11-13 to have max fps but invisible flames, everything else to play normally but with costant fps drop and stuttering.

SteamDeck runs the Windows version of the game by default even though there's a Linux version available. Game starts with 60FPS then immediatley drops to 15FPS in the first level. Switching to Proton 4.11-13 fixes this and the game runs fine afterwards.
Native runs perfectly OOTB.
Starts well
Played with Linux Native version
Performance is terrible with DXVK, and the game doesn't allow launching as a native title for some reason even though it has a native versio
seems fine at first, slows down to 20-30fps after a bit
FPS drop when there are a lot of enemies onscreen. Still playable
I'm enjoying it.
PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%
native version not works well with controller
change to proton for better controller support
dxvk runs at very low fps when have other enemies on screen
use wined3d will solve it
Around 15 FPS on Deck
FPS tanks once there are enemies on screen, rendering it unplayable. I have tried a few Proton versions, but no further tinkering.
Flawless
Locks the super-key thus disabling the option of killing the game without the "ingame" exit button. Other monitors turn black.
Started with a resolutions set to be cross monitor, some controls were outside my monitors resolution. Locked super-key, so no way of exiting it on i3.

Native, and Proton work.

No bugs or performance issues at all.

This is a NATIVE Linux game, AND runs flawlessly through Proton too.

This is a NATIVE LINUX GAME.

Everything is fine, except for gamepad. Sometimes the gamepad is recognized, sometimes not, and whatever the case the gamepad isn't able to bring up / navigate through the menu.

Runs fine, but controller is messed up. Seems to not accept controller config.
