Works great even in late game stages over level 100 and beyond. Multiplayer is lag free as well.
Game has a cloud save function that requires users to overwrite their stored save. This is not unique to Linux it's just how the game is so remember to maually save with the cloud icon.
Some artifacting when moving around. It seems to be random but not game breaking or too hard to look at. Pretty ignorable.
I've tried forcing compatibility to get rid of the artifacting but no proton version I tried improved it. Experimental didn't help. Then 9.0-1, 8.0-5 seemed to make it worse. I tried 7.0-6 but the game crashed when I got past the main menu. I didn't go any further down the version list. I went back to non-forced mode instead.
Works out of the box with Proton, plays just as good as Windows.
Game booted up right after installation. Didn't have to alter or force proton in properties. Title screen music is borked but I fixed it.
Took out the games .wma music files from music folder converted them all to .mp3. I put them back in and manually renamed all .mp3 back to .wma. Works great now.
Music on main title screen sounded like demonic screeching, other ingame sounds are fine though.
To give resolution support passed 1080p go to /home/YOURNAME/.steam/root/steamapps/compatdata/1368820/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Application Data/Frontier/RCT3 to the options.txt file. Open it and change the top line for resolution to whatever your main display is.
Major issues with both native Linux and Proton compatibility mode. Have to use Windows to play on my dual boot system.
Screen tearing lines on trees. Severe flickering of black on and off making game unplayable and hard on the eyes. May be a danger to people suffering from epilepsy.
Keyboard keys would automactically press twice when using Proton experimental making accurate movement impossible with certain ingame items. The problem dosen't seem to occur using native support.
Seems to be alot of forums discussing Terraria problems on Linux but no one has a fix. I tried a few suggested items but none of them improved my gaming experience.
