Had to install ALVR in desktop mode and pair to headset.
Most text was unreadable due to the very low resolution
The game is unplayable. It gats 30 FPS max in VR which causes motion sickness very quickly
It's possible to make this game run on the Steam Deck with VR using a Quest headset and ALVR, but the SD is not made for VR games. More of a fun fact than a viable way to play
Works well with ALVR
Runs on a Quest 2 headset with no probems provided your PC and WiFi setup are good enough. ALVR can be a bit hard to configre (audio required some messing around in the settings) but overall it's not bad.
High graphics settings on the native version caused significant artifacts around lights. Fixed by either lowering the settings or switching to Proton.
Every 1-2 hours the game would slow down significantly and after a few minutes crash with a memory related error.
Whenever the game slowed down I had to restart it to prevent losing progress.
I played this a while ago but I'm just now subbmitting the report. I saw that a big update (Necro Patch) released after I finnished that included changes to DXVK. It's possible that these bugs have been fixed.
Lowered graphics settings to save battery life.
Enable non blocking saves. Not required for the game to run but it's a usful Linux/MacOS feature that allows the game to save without stopping.
Frezes on the loading screen. Doesn't even connect to Steam VR
Tried on a Quest 2 with ALVR. Tried multiple Proton versions.
Sometimes crashes on startup. No crashes when in game.
Didn't test the multiplayer a lot but it seems to work perfectly.
Text that is rendered as part of a 3D model (for example starship speed) is very blurry and pixelated on the default graphical settings.
Often freezes when exiting the game. Also sometimes crashes when starting up. No stability issues when in game.
Often audio would drop out when using my monitors built-in speakers. Works fine with laptop speakers.
Game freezes and requires a restart when Alt + Tabing.
Often crashes on startup. If it launches sucesfully the stability is perfect.
Set graphics settings to low to save battery life
Occasionally after resuming from sleep there would be minor audio crackling. Restarting the game fixed it.
The game runs at between 10-15 FPS no matter the settings. Hardly playable
The game runs fine on Linux, but the Steam Deck is just too weak to play it smoothly.
Remaped almost all the controls. The game theoreticly has gamepad support but it's not good. I set the D-Pad to arrow keys, A to Z, B to X, Y to Shift and the Start and Select buttons to Q and W.
If the game is left running for a long time the audio might start to drop out for like 1/2 a second ocasionaly. Restaring the game fixes this.
The built is controller support sucks. Best to remap the controler to keyboard keys
During the text display animation the game can slow down significantly. I think this is a problem with all RPG Maker games but I'm not sure. Barely noticible unless something else is also moving on the screen (I only noticed this about halfway through the game)
This is one of my favourite games on the Steam Deck. Once you remap the controls it works almost perfectly.
If you manage to get Steam VR running it runs fine.
The game runs just fine. The real problem is getting Steam VR running. With a Ouest 2 it's very hard and requires making a Meta developer account and installing ALVR.
If you have a Meta headset I would recommend sticking to Windows. VR is the only reason why i still keep a windows install on my PC.
