Other than that one video bug (seems to be common enough to varrant a fix) is gone then it's install and play.
If the game freezes before reaching the menu delete the videos inside Steam/steamapps/common/BPM BULLETS PER MINUTE/WindowsNoEditor/BPM/Content/Movies/
The intro won't play and the game will start normally.
had to press the menu button to escape the window, the cursor can be visible in game, while you're supposed to use it to control the camera while in windowed full screen.
Unplayable on the lowest settings. I can't tell if it's related to anything happening in the game.
Blobfish logo popped up for a split second, then crashed.
The game boots up and works as is.
Other than the microphone, which means that you can't participate in the in game voice chat properly it works flawlessly.
If you alt tab, then the mouse can "unlock", aka you still move your cursor while in first person mode. If it happens, you will also not be able to click anything in the menus.
Microphone is not detected, most likely caused by a wine bug.
Black screen
Since the latest update (33, hotfix 10) the game will not start up, the furthest I can go is a black screen after the coffeestain/ghostship logos. This is with multiple versions of proton, including:
- 4.11
- 5.13
- current experiemental
- proton-6.1-ge-2
- proton-5.9-ge-8-st
The game WILL NOT run on linux at the time.
It relies on specific Nvidia API-s that are not standard yet, therefore won't be implemented on DXVK. The game also struggles with non-nvidia cards on windows because of it.
As long as those calls are not rectified on more than one vendor it won't work. the PR-s for this change won't be accepted.
Was completely unplayable, after start you by default run into the wall on the side of the track.
The game constantly turns left, which means that I need to compensate constantly. This makes it unplayable.
The game starts up, and can be played
On the lowest settings, the game is stuttering too much to be playable.
15 fps is what I measured.
Stuttering audio, and the menu background won't display the videos. has performance issues, but close to playable.
It is completely playable, I have a stable 120 fps so far. Larger ships will ruin it, but that is the same with windows.
Fullscreen crashes, full screen window can not be exited with alt-tab
Not certain about the severity.
It is as bad as it is on windows. No degradations from that.
Without GE, there is significant stuttering and framerate issues.
"There is missing required c++ package. You have to accept elevation dialogs from the steam to install prerequisites"
Automation upgrade broke the game.
"can not load library nw_elf.dll"
seems to have the same issue as the witches tea party https://www.protondb.com/app/594950
And this is someone who apparently fixed it for a different game but it's debatable how useful that fix may be: https://steamcommunity.com/app/594950/discussions/0/1733217528128966631/#c1639790664942624210
