As everyone says the EAC prevents the game from running.
Thanks to Alby and... uhm... "cum fart gaming" for the instructions. To play battlemode go to the game's base directory (eg .../SteamLibrary/steamapps/common/DOOMEternal/) and while keeping a backup of a file called PartyWin.dll, rename another called PartyWin7.dll to PartyWin.dll instead.
Crashes at boot with "teleporting" on the bottom left corner.
Tried almost all proton versions including GE, reinstalling, but still borked. Bummer since it used work flawlessly including the multiplayer, not sure if moving to wayland has anything to do with this...
Rockstar Launcher doesn't run.
I was able to play the game just fine a couple of weeks back (with 5.0-9 i think). Unfortunately now with 5.0-10, it seems like, Rockstar's launcher crashes immediately (same thing with 5.13-2 and other older builds).
Every now I'll get some stutters, but this could be due to the game as well.
You will need to select Proton Experimental from the Properties->Compatibility menu for now.
Got borked after March 24's update
Tried launching with 7.0.1 and Experimental, crashes almost immediately at the warning screen. The patch notes mentioned "Anti-cheat updates" so I guess this has to be related.

Todays update 23-06-2022 borked the game under proton again. Got black screen and that's it :(
