Works great with default Proton
I tried native version it launched but there were no audio. I switched to Proton everything works fine.
Can't play because of Uplay
Tried bunch of Proton versions, including latest GE, stable and experimental. After installing Uplay, it cannot connect to Uplay and game does not launch. Logs: "D:\JenkinsWorkspace\workspace\client_build_installer\client\products\game_starter\src\win\UplayConnection.cpp(158) : Failed to connect to Uplay\n"
Update to my last report: It works fine
Well, after looking more into logs, I discoverd that I have the following error: err:vulkan:__wine_create_vk_instance_with_callback Failed to create instance, res=-1
which is caused by installing lib32-amdvlk. After I uninstalled the package, everything worked fine as expected.
Proton-5.9-GE-6-ST GloriousEggroll GloriousEggroll
I could see the main menu with official proton but I couldn't log in. It was throwing an error when I was typing my gog account. So I tried to play the game with Proton-5.9-GE-6-ST GloriousEggroll release and I was able to log in and play.
gamemoderun PROTON_HIDE_NVIDIA_GPU=0 PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 VKD3D_CONFIG=dxr %command%
DLSS doesn't work for me
It works completely fine with defaults.
Easy anti-cheat works as expected. No problems playing the game.
Everytime a new episode loads or you replay a certain part, couple of minutes after the game crashes.
With newer proton versions the media files are not played. Only 6.21-GE were able to open the game. If the crash problems are fixed then the game is enjoyable but in this sate of the game I don't recommend it.
After making resolution lower and opening FSR the game is finally enjoyable. Though it still crashes now and then.
gamemoderun WINE_FULLSCREEN_FSR=1 %command%
With some Proton versions when you open it with fullscreen game crashes.
The game works way better when you make resolution lower. That's why I opened FSR.
Crashes every hour or so.
gamescope -w 1441 -h 831 -H 1080 -U -f -- %command%
Native version crashes.
After the first fight the camp scene does not initialize. After relaunching the game when I hit continue the screen freezes at "initializing scene x"
Update to last report: I changed the gamescope argument to "-b" it creates a borderless screen and it works without a problem.
gamescope -w 1280 -h 720 -W 1920 -H 1080 -U -b -- %command%
It crashes when I make screen full within the settings of the game
Then I can full screen from my WM's shortcut.
PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC=60 gamescope -w 1280 -h 720 -W 1920 -H 1080 -U -f -- %command%
PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC=60 solves the problem for me.
Overall great
It doesn't connect to Telltale's servers. You cannot compare your choices with others.
